For those interested Qatar Airways are offering some very cheap flights from Manchester to Bangkok changing at Dohar. Not flown with them before but will be doing in early April, anyone had any experience of flying with them ??

My travel company has come back to me and offred me an even cheaper flight treveling from Manchester to Bangkok with Qatar Arirawys changing in Dohar. So what do you guys think if this airline, I understand it leave at 10ish in the morning as well so it not a night time flight so you end up arriving in BKK in the early morning. Any comments would be welcome.

Hi, Plan on bringing my own unlocked Nokia mobile phone with me from the UK and getting a Thai Sim card, which is the best to get, I need one that will receive and make International Calls, where is the best place to buy one and howe much should I be paying ?? Many thanks Pat

Hi, Just been offered a very cheap flight in April from Manchester UK to BKK via Singapore, slightly longer flight but much much cheaper than Emirates. Anyone had any experience of flying with Singapore, heard the stopover might be worthwhile for some Duty Free shopping, anyone any comments. Many thanks Pat

Hi, Following my earlier thread about the Woodlands Resort which was included as a package deal from the UK I asked the travel agent to come up with an alternative. They have suggested The Sunbeam on Soi 8, does anyone have any experience of this place, if so what's it like. BTW Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Pat

Hi, I am making enquiries about obtaining presciption drugs for my next visit to the LOS. I regularly take Temazepam to aid sleep and Tylex for pain, and since my last visit I have been diagnosed as Diabetic for which I take Metformin. On my last visit it was impossible to by these drugs in Pattaya however I found a small drug store in Patpong that would sell me Diazepam and Tynonlol - a slightly infereior pain killer. I am expecting my stay to be several weeks, am I best bring enough with me or is it possible to get these drug from anywhere. If I bring supplies with me for a few weeks would the quantity be questioned as I know the Thai's have very strict rule on drugs and I don't want to get into any trouble. Many thanks Pat

Hi, I thought for a change on my forthcoming vistit to Thailand I would like to do a tourist thing and take a trip to the River Kwai. I have visited the Bridge a cxouple of time before so I thought I would take a relaxing couple of days and do the overnight thing staying in the oil lamp hut along the river. Can anyone recommend this trip and who should I book though, how much should I be paying and where exactly do you stay. Thanks in anticipation of your help. Pat

Hi Guy's Wondered if any readers have stayed at the Asia Hotel recently, I have booked a flight which includes 4 day accomodation at the Asia in April next year, got a good deal. I have stayed at the Asia three times before and was well satisfied with the place but have heard it has gone down hill recently. Would anyone like to comment. Many thanks Pat

Hi Visiting Pattaya on vacation next month but am plannin a trip to Kanchanaburi to see the River Kwai. Firstly thinking of using Malibu travel anyone ever heard of em are they any good ??? Hi Guys, A little question of photo's - I wondered if there is anywhere in Pattaya that you can get films developed on put onto CD's if so what the price ?? I have a digital camera but will there in Pattaya during Songkran and don't want to get it soaked was thinking of getting one of the cheap disposal camera's just in case !! Would it be cheaper to buy here in the UK or in Thailand. Thanks for all your help

Visiting Pattaya soom but have a couple of hours to waste in the afternoon before my transport leaves to Pattaya heard the Amari Airport Hotel After Flight centre on the 5th floor may be a good way of passing the time - anyone have any experience of this place ???

Hi Guys When exactly is Songkran - I am due to arrive in Pattaya on the 16th April will there still be celebration going on, I know there is lots of water thrown about but what else happens are there lots of parties everywhere if so where are the good ones - the ones with lots of girls etc. Is there anywhere that should be avoided and why. Like the look of the parties at FLB will you be having a party for Songkran if so are they open to all or do you have to be invited ?? Thanks for the help

Hi Guys, Visiting Pattaya in April staying at the Dusit Resort, heard it's a good hotel but the food and drink is expensive. Where is there nearby that good for food and cheap for drink, never been up that end of town before - the furthest North I have been is the Internet Cafe on Beach Road. Many thanks
