Our Happy Hours run from 14.00 - 18.00 and you can buy bottled beer from the ridiculously low price of 35 baht! And draught Chang is only 35 baht per glass...... all the time! So come along, make yourself known and join in our "Somtam Sunday Social!"...... we're WAG friendly! Free buffet/bar snacks will be available from 17.00 onwards. PS. Anyone wanting one of our uber cool new baseball caps but don't want shell out the 360 baht asking price? Buy one during the MotoGP programme and I'll knock 20% off!
  2. Original import duty. Harleys are insanely expensive here compared to, as you pointed out, the UK and US. A new Ultra will cost somewhere north of 1.5 Million Baht here! Ok, mine is 2nd hand and 7 years old, but every model here will have had the original import duty paid, and that is what keeps the re-sell price so high. 2nd hand 883 Sportsters are going for between 250,000 - 350,000 baht here! Have a look at www.bahtsold.com
  3. For Sale: 2002 Harley-Davidson FLHTCUI Electra Glide Ultra Classic 1450cc. Fuel injected, 50,000 km, brand new Pearl White/Gold metallic re-spray, many extras, new tyres, new battery, green book. 750,000 baht or near offer for this extremely solid and reliable bike. No time wasters. Contact Martin at the Ace Cafe in Jomtien, tel: 089 990 9342 email: martin.acecafe@gmail.com
  4. Little place I know in Jomtien: “Foot Long” Cumberland sausage with two fried eggs, two bacon (streaky and back), baked beans, black pudding, mushrooms, fried tomato & onions, home fries, two whole wheat toast, fresh orange juice, large English breakfast tea or coffee. 155 baht.
  5. ^ Likewise, good to see ya again LY. Yes indeedy, we had a great afternoon/evening, and will be doing it all again this coming w/end...... and watching the Euro (Valencia) F1 too! BTW, to the couple of guys who popped in at about 15.45 and asked about the free buffet and were told we don't have one..... sorry, the staff member you asked didn't recognise the word buffet because my gang have always referred to our comp food on a Sunday as "free bar snacks"......... my fault! PS. Avatar gal is a joy to be with and to be found on the Darkside!
  6. Bradley Smith: "I'm hoping for a positive race in Brno, I'm extremely determined to make it a good result after the crashes at Sachsenring and Donington. Brno is a technical and wide track, with ample opportunities for overtaking. In the 125s it will be difficult to escape because it's another long circuit where slipstreaming is key. It's a bit like Mugello, in terms of length and the combination of esses and elevation changes. That means it will be crucial to get the set-up right at Brno, and to be strong at the end of the race. I hope that after the last two wet races, we can enjoy another sunny weekend and good conditions for racing." SpicyMartin: "Just don't let 'em crowd you Bradley, coz we all know you ease the power off when you get swarmed!" But I digress: shameless bump to let those petrolheaded Pattayans and Jomtienites who maybe haven't seen this thread to mosey on down to the Ace tomorrow, should they be so inclined!
  7. Abso-bloody-lutely! Depending on decent info from the TV networks (yeah, right..... TIT) we will always show SBK........ come along, intro yourself and enjoy the petrolhead ambiance!
  8. Likewise..... I hope you can make it and look forward to it! Mango and Elway have become part of the furniture on Somtam Sundays now too! BTW, why the hell are you flying the Aussie flag?
  9. The Czech Republic MotoGP is on this coming Sunday, the 16th, and we will be showing the whole programme (16.00 - 20.00) live at the Ace Cafe at Hanuman Corner in Jomtien. 10. Hi folks, Martin from the Ace Cafe in Jomtien here. I'm a newbie (to this board, but been around Pattaya/Jomtien for many a year) and I'd like to kick off my posts by telling race fans that we show all A1GP, Formula 1 and MotoGP racing at the Ace, with none of the usual beer bar "distractions!!" Also, any racing that falls on a Sunday afternoon (which means most of it) we offer complimentary bar snacks, and a mountain of somtam for the girls. So, if you fancy an afternoon watching your favourite racing in the company of other enthusiasts, in a pleasant cafe with a couple of well placed TV's and surround sound, enjoying some delicious pork, chicken and veg dips.... bring the missus, relax and enjoy. Hope to see you here! Cheers.
