Try the Baywatch Cafe Beach Road (about 100 metres before Walking Street). The breakfast menu has an excellent choice and the pork sausages are superb. They also have a varied menu of Thai and Western food which is also well worth checking out.

One of the best watering holes in the area and a great place to relax. Had some interesting conversations there over the years whilst sipping the amber nectar and watching the world go by.

No problem with the free drinks...just keep asking. I have flown with most of the Middle Eastern airlines and I find Qatar to be as good as Emirates and on a par with Etihad...although business class in Qatar is better than the rest in my opinion. In economy the airbus is comfortable with plenty of legroom and good entertainment...the food is also quite good. The airport at Doha is improving all the time and now is much better that it was a few years ago when a major development program was started and you battled in order to find a seat. Booked Mr Toom to meet at the airport in February and received confirmation etc...no one there to meet us. There was a very nice lady who was organising the dozens of taxi drivers and I explained that toom had not appeared. She very kindly telephoned the number which had been supplied to me when I booked and after 1/2 hour waiting his lady driver appeared and transported us to Pattaya. After a 19 hour journey this is not good. I won`t be using him again...plenty more taxi operators to choose from, infact I used Mermaids for the previous 6 airport trips and they were always on time.
