  1. Wing Chun (or Ving Tsun) are without doubt the most effective fighting style as there is no defense to it's attacks. The whole idea is to hit your opponent in so many different places that he cant block all. It's also one of the hardest styles to master. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wing_Chun
  2. Hehe takker tar :) Og jeg altid rart med landsmænd når man er langt væk hjemmefra :) Thank you all for the warm welcome, looking forward to posting my trip report
  3. Yup first time on this board and it will be my first trip to Thailand as well. If you have been on any of the common chica boards you might have crossed paths with me before as Sosua, DR was my mongering spot for six years. After they had a major crackdown on chicas, everything was forced to close at midnight, my room was broken into and I was robbed blind (Laptop, phone, money, papers etc.), my buddy took the wrong chica home for LT and a policeman who liked her then booked him on a bogus drug charge, I had to bail (read bribe the captain, risking my own safety) him out for $2000 USD to a
  4. I'd rather not comment on what I did
  5. Thanks for all the info guys - it's awesome to say the least. Fortune has it a good friend of mine (here at work) saw me browsing hotels etc. in Pattaya and immediate said he wanted in on the trip. So here's another question, based on your experience, is it cheaper to book a suite with 2 seperate bedrooms or just stick with 2 seperate rooms? Sabai Inn is back up in the top3 for my hotel booking after the 'green light' from Fonz
  6. Any of you know how long the member access takes by any chance? :)
  7. Excellent info and my preferences are close but not in the action zone (walking street) :) I like to be able to treat my hangover during midday but I'm not oversensitive about noise. With bathroom trouble Sabai Inn is deff. out the picture as that is one of my basic needs - proper bath/toilet facilities with running warm water for showering. A lot of things I can overlook but bad toilets are just frustrating and always come at worst possible moments :) Here's what I've picked up reading the forums - the hotel needs to be between 2nd road and beach road or face outwards to 2nd road so g
  8. I'm okay with prices up to 15-1600 baht a night and what I'm counting as most important is veyy GF, location (as I've never been there before), clean rooms (and bug free), good A/C and good toilet/bath facilities. Balcony is a plus :) I dont require a pool or gym but a decent breakfast would be nice (not a requirement). Atm. Sabai Inn, Inn House and Sandy Springs are the ones I'm counting on but that's by pure websurfing and all hotels can look good in the right lightning/old photos etc. - what really matters is the experiences you guys have to share. You can email me the pics at:
  9. Very good info Ben, let me ask you where would you stay then :) I like the idea of a balcony, but I'm not much of a stair climber so elevator is a must if it's above 3rd floor (climbing stairs while hammers is hard)
  10. I just booked a room for my January trip at Sabai Inn and got a decent price. I asked the manager via email beforehand if they were guest friendly and he said they were (no charge). Beginning to understand the Soi numbering I'm wondering if I book a hotel too far away from the action as it's located near Soi 1 & 2. I know I can take the bath bus, but does that also go around Pattaya at evenings/night? Sorry for all the questions but trying to avoid the rookie mistakes (although I am a rookie) Sabai Inn map link.
  11. I'm curious which airline is the best as I normally fly with SAS (but their rates to BKK is insane during highseason). Of the two mentioned, which would you prefer?
  12. Those are both excellent, especially like the first one. Still no distance legend though :) How long is the average soi in meters? I dont mind walking 2-3km for the action but if a soi is 2km long it changes the hotel choice radically :)
  13. Hi all Just wanted to let you know there's another Scandinavian lurker on the boards :) I'll be going to Pattaya for 2½ weeks in January, for the first time, as the Dominican Republic just ain't what it used to be. Time for a change :] I'm still trying to catch up with all the information on the boards but there is something I just cant figure out - it's the Soi, 2nd road etc. - I've found several maps but none with a distance legend so I have quite the trouble of figuring out distances and which area to focus on when finding the right hotel. As a dane I usually get so hammered
