  1. Not really posting with the intention of a discussion so to speak, more a case of putting this here for reference so if anyone searches in future this will turn up -- Alois Restaurant on Thappraya Road opposite Residence Garden hotel -- have been here for dinner very recently and wanted to say that I class it probably to be in the top 3 restaurants I've ever eaten at in terms of the quality of the food, the service and the choice available. The atmosphere is also very good. My meal came to 900bht which was a starter, soup, main and desert as well as a glass of wine. It might not be the ch
  2. Thanks to all for the advice / experiences - perhaps a better option to opt for a seat a few rows back - I'm not particularly tall anyway so legroom isn't a HUGE issue :)
  3. Hi all When travelling short haul I have always opted for emergency exit seats as it allows for extra legroom and the possibility to avoid someone reclining their seat in to you. However, I am now going to BKK in Feb '10 with Qatar who have personal TV in the back of the headrest in front. Obviously the emergency exit seats don't have TVs in the seats in front so I wonder if anyone knows if they have personal TV for these seats and if so how is it controlled and where is it located? Thanks for any info.
  4. Thanks all for the advice - I have now booked for February, a while away yet but it gives me time to start saving! £377 with Qatar - lets hope it goes smoothly!
  5. Thanks guys. Would I have to collect my checked suitcase and then re-check it for the second flight or would it be automatically transferred at Doha? thanks.
  6. Hi All you may know I am planning a trip to Pattaya in Feb 2010 - A quick Q. I have found a flight for Qatar for £377 return from London Gatwick to Bangkok via Doha. My question is - are the following times sensible? My concern is the transfer time in Doha is quite short. e.g. Gatwick to Doha (arrive: 1815) next flight is Doha to Bangkok (at 2030) Similarly on the return: Arrive at Doha 2355 , next flight at 0105. I have heard things about this airport like how long it takes to get off the plane in to the terminal building so I'd appreciate some feedback fr
  7. Hi All I am planning a trip for early next year to Pattaya ... Could anyone inform on the Residence Garden - specifically, looking at some of the pictures I can't help but thinking it looks very dated - is this the case? I have read only good reviews on this hotel (and I must have read about 30 reviews) and this is persuading me to get booking, but I don't want to stay somewhere that reminds me of my Nan's house? Thanks.
