  1. Hi I'm just back from Thailand. I would like to add some comments and reviews concerning my choices. I first booked the Rockhouse : huge rooms, good price, very nice decoration and i'm a great fan of heavy metal . i arrived Pattaya 18th November at 8pm. Check in was ok, but they try to put me in one of the small room instead of the big room i asked (and was confirmed) during the booking. The girl told me that all big rooms were full. The size of the room being one of the reason of my choice i left. I sms the boss to explain that i will not stay at his place. When i book a certain type of room and booking is confirm i like to obtain what was granted. That was not the case. I expected some excuses back from the manager of the place but nothing came. I guess that he don't give a shit concerning customers. I admit that some errors can be made during the booking or that they maybe preferred to rent the huge rooms for more long terms than i stayed. I would have liked though to be warned of the decision or at least to have a few words from the manager. Nothing came. Definitevely not a place to recommend. So i was at around 8pm with all my stuff wih no rooms ...so i cross the street and asked Billabong. A big room was available so i took it. The place is very nice. Large, comfortable, sunny during the day, great staff (not very quiet though for people who like to sleep early but that's Lk metro not soï Nowhere). I booked for 2 night and extended for 2 more. on second morning though i was woken up by a phone call at 11am (that is hard ! ) because i could not stay in that room. An error has been made and the room was already booked for the next nights. The girl that commited the error was very sorry and many helped me find another place to stay. No big deal (except that 1 or 2 hours more sleep would have been appreciated). I will definitely stay again at Billabong and this time book a big room via mail before coming. I really appreciated the girls at the staff all being very nice. A room at Armageddon's was found but not available until late afternoon so we tried look other places . I finally found Tim beer bar Soy 14 on second street. 800b a night . Large rooms each having "bubbling bath" (cannot really call this jacuzi). Can use the Pool of the Tim hotel. Just above a pool room and a gogo and ideal situation. Some little problems with water pressure though and no dvd player (rented for 100 bahts a night) We booked for 3 nights and extended till the end. Very nice place. Have a look at it. Thats' all hotel adventures for November 2009. P.S. I saw the Lk Place soy Dianna have rooms for 1000b. Was full so, i'll probably to stay there afew nights next time.
  2. I don't know what you mean . i'm just searching for a nice place to stay and checking different possibilities ( and i appreciate answers and recent experiences in the different places) My opinion isn't made yet. (i admit for the moment the Opey is a little favourite for price and location . no need motorcycle. I Fear Mansion is a bit far walking to 2nd road but that would be 2nd choice ) Maybe i talk about it because you tell things and i would like a bit of explanation (mps accepted). This is your fight, not mine. I will not chose a place or a judge guy idon't know from strange stories on a web site. and I don't know what a slob is (sorry not native english so probably lack of vocabulary). And it would be pleasure to share a beer (or 2 ) with helpful people here.
  3. thank you for advice; I'm taking time. The main choice is the same for the moment, even if u make the rockhouse pretty scary I'll have a look on the sites
  4. Must be great even Aerosmith made a song a bout it
  5. Is there a story concerning this ? has already a customer been beaten or hit in the bar ? That sounds like a joke
  6. Thank you for answers. i agree sunview place is nice but long wlaking distance to catch bahts buses or come back walking from 2nd road. A helmet ? Is this a joke ?
  7. After some more search i have a first few choices : Lk Metro : Billabong, Metro apartments and RockHouse seem to have huge and nice rooms. i especially like Rockhouse deco (even if i would have put some Lemmy's posters in the room ! ) . These 3 seems hard to beat. Soi Lengkee : Opey de Place and Jp Court . smaller rooms but seems quieter And closer to the beach Sandy Spring. Some reviews welcome concerning the first choice. Thank you very much !
  8. Hi Everyone ! I'm new to this board. I already came to Pattaya and am planning a new week in November. I'm searching for a nice place to stay (i've read some reviews but didn't manage to find something adequate with all my needs). What i fear with the reviews is that some are pretty old (2003-2004) , and things change in 5 years. I'd like a place : - no joiner - budget 800-1300. I don't want something too cheap. - Quiet - Nice and big rooms (30-40 sqm would be nice . The bigger the better. ) - I like nice decoration and nice big (and firm) beds. I don't want the room to look old or deprecated (i visited lek hotel , Dianna Inn and Honey Inn for ex and didn't like them ) - And location near soï buakhow- Lk Metro - soï dianna Or between 2nd road and beach road (soï 9-13/2) I have no motorcycle so i'd like some place where i can walk to a baht bus on 2'nd or beach road (5-10 minutes walk is ok ) I don't care : pool, wifi, breakfast For ex : I stayed last sime at Baan Sila hotel soï 11 (999 a night),. It was perfect but the prices for high season are 1500 bahts a night which is too expensive. Any advice or idea is much welcome. Thank you very much Baan Sila (Soï 11 )
