Hi guys,
After completing my 5th trip to Pattaya in May this year I can't wait to get back to the town we all love, and I am planning a trip during Easter next year.
As I have never spent Easter in Pattaya previously I don't know how crowded it is..
Do u recommend to book hotel now or can I wait a few months and still get a good hotel?

I'm considering using him from BKK to Pattaya next week.. What's his current rate ? Still 1200 bath?
Thanks for any information

I just booked a ticket from Gothenburg, Sweden to Bangkok May 24-June 24 for SEK 4200 ($ 615).
I'm based in Norway, but I'd gladly travel to GOT for that price
Hurry up, the offer ends today..

Note: This article is written assuming u fly economy class (Euro Traveller or World Traveller)
British Airways sucks and London Heathrow sucks..
I have only used British Airways to Bangkok once, but I have used them more than a dozen times to Accra and Lagos (In Africa) This is only because I go for the most changeable /flexibility tickets, and their tickets are generally more flexible compared to for exampel KLM and Lufthansa (I need flexibility even though I am flying coach).
Last time I flew BA was December 30, 2006 OSL-LHR-ACC and January 25 2007 LOS (Lagos)-LHR-OSL
Even though my return trip was from Nigeria (you get a full baggage allowance ) , their in flight service is getting worse every time I fly with them. Not to mention their ground staff service at the Lagos Murtala Muhammed International airport is also poor (one of the worst airports in the world). Even though being in Nigeria (not a very pleasant experience in the first place - you cannot expect much in that country) you should expect a little bit from BA, but obiously not in economy class.
I'm telling you guys, BA is getting worse every day (unless u fly premium cabin) and it does not help that most of their Intercontinental flights goes out of London Heathrow.. The airport is so damn crowded these days that most of the flights are delayed (at least in my experiences)
Conclusion: unless you live in London or get a very good price on BA, avoid Heathrow and British Airways in general!!!!
And the sad fact is that most European and US carriers suck in Economy class.. Go for Emirates, Thai, Malaysia Airways or Singapore Airlines if possible.. They're good even in coach :)
Fed up BA passenger ( Sindre)
Asian carriers = thumbs up!!!

Thanks for the reply guys. I'll go for the cheapest option in business class.

You should fly Phillipines cause they might be cheaper and they fly into the new terminal which should save you some time and/or hassle.

Hi guys!
I need to fly from Bangkok to Accra, Ghana (West Africa) in a couple of months from now and I'm currently trying to get the best prices.
The best airline flying this route would be Emirates with transit in Dubai, but I can get much cheaper fares on Egyptair or Ethiopian (transfer in Cairo or Addis Abeba).
Should I go for Emirates even though I have to pay more?
Thanks,
Sindre

Hi Writerguy!
I've been flying both airlines out of Frankfurt and Munich and I would say it depends if you're flying economy, biz or first. I have flown both airlines in coach many times and in my opinion Thai offer a much better product in economy compared to Lufthansa. You also have more legroom on Thai.
I have never flown LH business class, but I've heard it's pretty good compared to the old biz class on Thai 747s.
However, please note that neither LH or TG offer PTVs on their 747 aircraft in economy class.
I know Thai operates new Airbus (A345 & A346) out of Milan and Zurich.

Hillbilly,
I fly BA quite a bit on flights to both Asia and Africa and have never had any problems bringing two pieces of luggage into the cabin in World traveller (economy).
In my opinion BA is one of the best airlines in Europe for long haul travel in economy.

Hi guys!
Going to Thailand again and this time around I will be flying business.
Recently flew KLM business class to Africa (AMS-ACC), but that was on a Airbus 330.
I know they use 747 on the AMS-BKK route, so do LH on the FRA-BKK rounte.
So what should I go for assuming the price is about the same on both airlines?

s.3PM in the afternoon seems to be the worst time as there is at least 3 other flights there from LHR and germany!!!
Yeah, I agree. It's a pain in the ass to arrive around 3 pm!!!
I arrived on a flight from Kuala Lumpur this summer and had to wait for almost an hour!!!!

Bally,
If I go to Pattaya for a short term stay (1-3 weeks) I average about 3000 Baht a day (including hotel/apartment)
The reason for this is that I don't bother to barfine or hang with girls every night(maybe 3 or 4 times a week!!).
As mentioned many times before on this forum-your daily budget will increase if you drink, barfine and fuck every night.
Conclusion: It's no problem to spend 6000 Bath a day in Pattaya, but it's also possible to spend as little as 2000 (even less if you are on a tight budget)
Of course with less than 2000 a day including hotel you'll probably sleep alone...

If you wanna fly Japanese, ANA (All Nippon Airways) are way ahead...

Some doctor told me not to drink alcohol during the flight.
stay hydrated by avoiding coffee, alcohol etc.
It helps, but many people will still be jet-lagged no matter how good they prepare themselves for the flight.
-
I would have included a couple of days or maybe a week to one of the other countries in the region such as Malaysia, Cambodia or Vietnam...
But that's just me...
I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter where you go
-
I have not been to Pattaya during all months, but based on my own experience May/June and September are my favourite months....
Much better than December, January and February when it's really crowded.
-
Tengotogo,
The only reason I'm able to do this is because I'm going back to the University (have been working for 5 years) next year to do some more education.
I have been saving a little bit and want to do this before going back to school.
I would never be able to do this if I wanted to keep my current job or if I had family. Then I'm only 25 years old and single....
I hope you will enjoy your trip to Thailand-it's definitely gonna change your life...I have been to Thailand 5 times the last two years!!!!

Hi!
I'm considering taking 4 months off and travel around the world.
I was just wondering if any of you guys have had such ticket. What do you think about it? Are the tickets flexible/easy to change?
Needless to say-The plan is to spend at least one month in Thailand

Hi again Farman!
I just did a search and it seems like AZ is the cheapest option from London during those dates. SQ and BA asked for almost 1000 pounds!!
If price is an issue you should go for them!
Good luck!

Guys,
I fly Lufthansa once or twice a year to destinations in Africa and Asia.
I have never tried their business class product, but I got a pretty good fare so I am considering using them to Thailand soon.
I know they fly MUC-BKK with Airbus 346 and FRA-BKK with 747.
Do you know if they have introduced their new business class on all aircrafts?

Farman,
I have used this airline twice from Milan(MXP) to Accra, Ghana.
I would not recommend using Alitalia because of the following reasons:
1.Often delayed flights
2. Bad/rude staff
3.Poor inflight service and entertainment.
I only use them because of the good price they offer to Africa (cheaper than BA,LH and KL)
Nowadays, I stick with BA or LH even though they are more expensive.
By the way, I didn't know they fly to Bangkok? Is it codeshare with Thai? I know Thai fly to BKK from MXP. However, as far as I know they use old MD11 on this route.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Sailfast,
I fly Europe (Madrid or Oslo)-London-Accra (Ghana,West Africa) on British Airways at least 2 or 3 times a year. I also flew with them to Bangkok this summer.
Actually, I find them better than for example LH,KL and SK. They're also way better than most of the American carriers....
You probably just had bad luck...
