To answer your other question, you can apply for it from any embassy outside Thailand it does not have to be your home country. Many students get it from Penang or Laos etc We handle all this paperwork and you would advise us where you will be waiting for it so we can make arrangements.

Hi there may or may not be a cursory test. It should be relatively basic in most cases. Compared to other visas this has the lowest reserve / income requirements and documentation so it is a good option for many. Only 2 hours per week is the required study.
