Thanks for all your advice, he is now out of ICU in a superior room. His brother who happens to be Mickey Pierce of Only fools and horses is with him and negotiating. I have paid £2300 so that things will be a little easier for him. The Consulate are giving some advice. We will probably leave him where he is at the moment and ask for a discount and a payment plan. Good news is he is out of danger and recovering. Thank you again

Hi, my father is in Bangkok hospital Pattaya following an accident on a bike. He has broken ribs and a punctured lung but he is ok. The problem is I am pretty sure his insurance will not cover him, they are investigating. Meanwhile he is being pressured to pay £3000 now + £1000 per day going forward, the bill could end up £20,000 and he has no way of covering that. We, his family are in england, my brother is flying from Delhi to be with him tonight and meanwhile we are trying to scrape some funds together in the event the insurance company does not cover him. My question is: Is there a more reasonable priced hospital near or in Pattaya where he can be treated while he recovers? He has had the work needed and he now needs recovery time and monitoring and at £1000 per day I would be expecting him to be coming out of there like Steve Austin.
