Its been about 10 years since I was last in Pattaya, so I'm sure a lot has changed (for example you don't get seventy-odd baht to the quid any more!). I have a week free at the beginning of January and was toying with the idea of popping over, so I'd appreciate it if you good folks could answer me a couple of questions. Has the rise of the gogo and decline of the beer bar continued? Are there still plenty of good old fashioned beer bars? Whats the going rate for bar fine/LT? (I was never an ST fan) I used to always stay at the Residence Garden but that appears to be full. Can anyone reco

Qatar Airways ff miles from the UK isn't too bad a deal, and even though it might take you 3 or 4 trips for a freebie, just being a member lets you check in at the business class desk, increases your luggage weight allowance and increases your chance of getting bumped up to business class if they're full. Speaking of which I just got a good deal last week. They were full coming back from from BKK, so I volunteered to miss the flight - got two nights in a 5 star in BKK and a free return flight anytime within the next year as compensation ;D

I'll be arriving at the RG on 22/12 for 3 weeks. The 250 baht surcharge over Xmas and New Year is good value as far as I'm concerned when comparing it to the "Gala dinner" surcharges other hotels will charge.
