  1. So... do you know the difference between a Harley and a Vacuum Cleaner? ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... On the vacuum cleaner the dirt bag is located inside!
  2. That was FUNNY! Almost had beer come out my nose!
  3. Paul, Thanks for the update. Looks like an amazing amount of work you are doing. Is this building purchased? It seems like you are putting a huge amount of money and effort into the new club. I've always heard horror stories (lately from nana) about clubs that get ripped off by the owners when the lease runs out. I wish you a lot of luck with the new club and look forward to a drink or two the next time I am over. Please keep up the great updates. Regards, Ghost

  5. I don't know if Kim would be willing to work on a house in Issan but he might be able to recommend someone. He is a good friend... and NO I don't have any financial interest in his business other than to refer people when they ask. http://nongkhaihouse-service.com/
  6. Anybody tried this place? Just curious.
  7. I'd suggest you go ahead and buy a small scooter(AND A HELMET). Go to a deserted road and practice starting and stopping for awhile. Then practice turning within a 5-6 m radius. You'll be comfortable on the bike in no time. Keep practicing for a couple months before you get in heavy traffic.
  8. Gary, Can you post some more info about the funds and how to invest. I'm very interested. How do you avoid the taxes? Thanks for the info. -Ghost
  9. Hilarious! I'm not much of a coffee drinker but I might increase my daily consumption for cream like that!!
  10. Hello Rhoel, I traveled to Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima) in August. While I was there my TG and I stayed at the Rachaphruk Grand Hotel. I paid 1500b a night. Free breakfast for two was included. http://www.rachaphruk.com We spent most days with her family. We bought food at the market and her family prepared it in their home. The hotel is first rate and I would easily recommend it. There is a HUGE Big-C nearby also where I purchased food that wasn't available in the market (My TG's daughter has a real taste for Pringles). Good luck on your trip. -Ghost
  11. Thanks for the update Davey, I really thought about staying somewhere else on this trip but Ib and the staff were great on my first trip. 20 days till touchdown in Pattaya. [smiley=cheers.gif]
  12. Thanks for the report SF_Dude. I was a little apprehensive about the noise. I hope its not to quiet there. I'd hate to keep all you punters awake with the moaning and screaming coming from my room. ;D
  13. You will be there two weeks before me ??? Now I'm really jealous [smiley=sad.gif]
  14. Gotta applaud Ib. I emailed my concerns and he's willing to work with me on the reservation. If the noise gets objectionable he's offered to move me into another nearby suite. I really enjoyed my stay at Residence Garden last year so I'm very happy to be able to stay there again. See ya'll in about a month.
  15. Ok. Thanks. I emailed Ib and cancelled my reservation. I'm a night owl and I certainly don't want to be woken at 8 or 9 in the morning. That would only give me a couple hours of sleep.. ;D
  16. How is the noise? If I wanted to sleep in until 10 or 11 could I do it? Or is it to noisy? Nail banging and such??
  17. Thanks Chico... You are right, I mean March. 27 more days 'till wheels up... but hey who's counting... [smiley=cheers.gif]
  18. I'll be in BKK April 28,29,30 and arrive in Pattaya on April 31...till April 16. Second round is on me...
  19. After you are logged in, send these commands: cd download dir bin get ThaiLangTape1SideA.mp3 ... You may want to try a different ftp client. The standard windows ftp client works well enough for this. To use it: Click on Start, Run, then type: ftp 209... and login. You would use the same commands but you will want to add a local directory command: cd download lcd c: dir bin get ThaiLangTape1SideA.mp3 ... The lcd c: command will dump the files into the root of your c drive. You could also specify a directory on the c drive: lcd c:temp See if that works...
  20. Hi all- I put the thai tape files on an ftp server: ftp 209.204.141.88 username: flb password: tha1tap3 Look in the downloads directory. I'm also interested in any other thai language materials. I can host them on the ftp site if there is enough interest.
  21. Hmm.. Must be a problem. The files are on Kazaa and my machine has been on for the last 3 or 4 days. There must be some kind of problem with the file detection on Kazaa.... I'll have to figure out another way to make them available.
  22. It seems quite a distance from the bars?? I've never spent any time in Jomtien so I really don't know what I'm talking about...but it certainly doesn't look like walking distance. :-/
  23. Thanks Ray!! Now why didn't I think of that. ??? My user name on Kazaa is larry_loves_laughing@kazaa I leave the computer on pretty much 24/7. The four files are: ThaiLangTape1SideA.mp3 28,218 KB ThaiLangTape1SideB.mp3 27,992 KB ThaiLangTape2SideA.mp3 27,268 KB ThaiLangTape2SideB.mp3 27,294 KB If you do not have it... you can download kazaalite from here: http://www.kazaalite.nl Good Luck
  24. I have enough requests that I am planning to post the four mp3 files online. They are each around 25MB. Anybody know of any file storage locations that can handle this large of a file?
  25. I have the first book also. I think it is good if you want to read AND WRITE thai. I seem to have a lot of difficulty recognizing all the different thai characters. Thankfully all the beer bar and gogo signs are in english. :) Oh...I've made mp3 files of the tapes if anybody is interested in them I could put them on the web somewhere for a few days.
