  1. Sorry for this post but I am unable to use the personal messaging system. As was suggested to me I tried to join the members bar but it has been 3 weeks and I have had no email response. I am back soon and wanted to get to know a bit more before I return. Anything anyone can do would be appreciated.
  2. Most people have been winging about cash getting skimmed, hard to prove. I am not talking about other items. I merely said why keep what appears to be in some cases massive wads of cash in a safe? I've been using ATMs, online banking, electronic transactions since I had an account and have never once had a problem. Accepted, Thailand is behind the western world in electronic transactions, and I hate using cash, but still I just can't see why in this century someone would keep tens of thousands of whatever currency in a room safe.
  3. why keep money in your hotel safe? What is wrong with an ATM card? So, it costs a few quid for a transaction, but there is no worrying about money in your safe. Granted I have only been there once, but I get my money, put it in my front pocket, no problem. I get back with a girl and put my money under the mattress, not much chance of most bar girls shifting that, especially when I am lying on it.
  4. I am with you guys. I have done some soul searching and have decided Pattaya is for me, fare booked 29 October. My
  5. Thanks for the kind words and advice. Pattaya certainally makes you look at life differently. Now I have done a scouting trip I will know what to avoid or visit. The Rockhouse is a definite do not bother. The ?beer garden-that place at the start of Walking Street on the sea front-loved it, great place to chill with or without a lady. I actually picked one up there. My next trip will be awesome.
  6. Well I finally did Pattaya. Thanks to everyone for the advice. Sorry I did not contact anyone, I just prefer to do things by myself, but maybe not anymore as I met some great guys. I had a fantastic time, no problems at all with my skin, and I will be coming back. Pattaya has done me! In hindsight it may have been better to meet up with a few board members because I did have some periods of boredom, but I am sure as I get to know the place that will change. I only managed the FLB bar once, early, and it was quiet. I tended to BF early and spend the night in!!! I stayed at the Qu
  7. Cluster, lighten up FFS, I thought you Ozzies had a SOH? You didn't give me any advice I hadn't already received, and you remarked upon the bad behaviour of some Indians. I agreed with you, from my perspective. Sorry if I didn't say thanks
  8. And it was taken as such, don't worry, just having a laugh.
  9. Ha, ha, ha, ha. I am a British Indian so to speak and I have seen Indians behave terribly. I don't want to go into my personal history but I was lucky at an early age to be influenced more by English culture than Indian. I have to say there are traits in many Indians, especially men, which I despise. They have a lot of front and persona and come across as being friendly guys whereas this is not the case. I personally don't trust most Indian men, and that is a big call to make. I can fully understand why they can get a bad name for themselves as I know, and understand their thought processes to
  10. Thanks again, so much more of a positive response and a lot less cryptic than another board where I left the same message.
  11. Some good advice so far, thank you. Any thoughts on Phuket or should i join a Phuket forum? Thanks
  12. I hold a British passport, born and bred in England, though to look at me you would think I walked out of Chennai yesterday. Does that matter? Most foreigners don't get the subtleties of accents. Or maybe you mean do I smell of garlic and stale sweat? LOL.
  13. I am planning a trip to Thailand soon, maybe Pattaya, maybe Phuket. I like to do research, I am an educated man, and it seems like Indian people can face discrimination in Pattaya, maybe not so much in Phuket. I am not coming for a cultural visit, I am not coming to get a sun tan (lol), I am coming to scratch an itch. Pattaya sounds like the best of the two but I don't want to be disappointed by being turned away because of my skin colour. I do take many things I read on the internet with a large pinch of salt and every race has its people who give others bad names. As Phuket is more o
