Hi there. :) I was just wondering, are there any cinema clubs or private/underground theaters here in Pattaya? As a resident here I'm aware of the two or three commercial venues at Central Festival and The Avenue, and the slots do change regularly and worthwhile work frequently pops up (Juan Bayona's The Impossible and Cloud Atlas for example). But I'm looking for a choice beyond the limited array of newly released films and mainstream studio productions. Any chance of coming across some screenings of Mizoguchi, Robert Bresson or Godard? I don't expect them to show Michael Snow or Jonas Mekas (few people are into that s---), but if you do know of any establishments which show aesthetically substantial films, I'd be interested in getting into contact with you. Thank you. - A Teenager By the way, as for Thai and Eastern film in general, I'm not too well-acquainted with it beyond some Kurosawa and Wong Kar-Wai and a few other directors that I've seen. I've seen some of Apichatpong Weerasthakul's auteurship too and I thought it was pretty good, but that's it.
