  1. Robbins Nest Pattaya. All you can eat Breakfast B199. Includes up to 4 drinks. Suppose you could have 4 beers if you wanted. Its far better than Pig, and I liked Pig for many years.
  2. The official rate at the booth is B1,500. Thats no negotiation, fixed. If you want a booking from say pattaya its a bit cheaper. Make your own mind up.
  3. I had a couple of weeks at BB in August this year and another couple of weeks in October. Just back a week ago. The rooms are not brand new, but are clean and comfortable. Nothing wrong with them imo. The location is excellent Both my rooms had room safes but they were locked and out of use. I prefer reception safety boxes in any case. Also BB has free WiFi in all rooms, the pool, reception and restaurant areas.
  4. Personally, I would not pay a deposit or holding fee. I want to see the room etc before I pay anything. Having said that, if you are talking about peak tourist season around christmas, you may not have much choice but to pay up if you want the room held for you. I have stayed at Dianna Inn, quite a few years ago now. Its a great location, but can be very noisy from road traffic unless you get one of the newer (and more expensive) back rooms. I stopped staying there because of the noise and in my view lousy staff. Overall I think you can do a lot better. I don't know what price
  5. Personally it is just totally out of the area I would even consider staying. Period. Like your good self, I like the area from soi 7/8 up to about soi Diana etc. Getting home safely at night is a major consideration and while Nova Platinum looks great, its in a totally wrong area for me. The area is totally a deal breaker for me. Others may love it of course - up to then.
  6. Has anyone stayed at Orns Place and can provide a bit of a review of the place, outline room facilities etc ? Is it a guest house or a hotel. Do they have a website etc Thanks
  7. I read somewhere that Opey insist on holding their guests passports as " security" during their stay at the hotel. Can anyone confirm this - or otherwise ?? Thanks.
  8. Can anyone tell me what the setup is with internet access at Opey de place ? I see the website says ADSL, but is it wireless available in the rooms or just a PC in the lobby etc ? Many thanks
  9. Makavelli, Have you thought of Fortuna, just across the road from Gullivers. I first stayed there in mid 1980's and have a peak at it each time I stroll past going to gullivers. Its refurbished etc, gone a bit upmarket, probably around B1,500- B1,800. Think they market themselves for business people, guess that can mean anything. I liked it when I stayed there. It looks very nice now walking past. http://www.fortunabangkok.com/
  10. Alan, I booked there several years ago. Lasted ONE night. Room was VERY basic in my opinion. Room safe would not work so mine-host gave me a masterkey for the night. God knows how many others had also used the key before me. I was very uncomfortable about the entire situation and hated the room. Left the next morning walked 20 paces to Bella Vista (in the lane connecting Sois 7 & 8). Bella was virtually new at that time and was B550 per night. Nowadays Bella want about B650 per nite if you stay a week or so, off peak season. I like the food at P&W, full english b
