LIRR is the lower level of NY Penn Station. If you are taking Amtrak or NJ transit look for stairs downstairs and LIRR sign, which should be no problem to find. Most LIRR trains stop in Jamaica during non-rush hour. Otherwise, make sure that the train stops in Jamaica and buy your ticket prior to boarding to save $s. When arriving in Jamaica you will see the Airtrain terminal to your right, which is also very easy to take, you will need to purchace a Metrocard to pay for it. This is the easiest way to JFK (other than a cab) especially with luggage. It should take about 45 minutes.

I used Mr. Toom service in the beginning of February from the airport to Pattaya and he was great. I had no problems and he was waiting for me. The car was not new but was in good condition and he drove fine. I would definately use his service again. I ended giving him an extra 100 baht as a tip but he never asked or hinted that he wanted a tip.
