  1. I am really happy having an AIS number for many reasons. Ok, the social aspects are obvious. It is much cheaper to call overseas, much cheaper to make local calls and the info from AIS is really good. Earlier this year there was a promotion that allowed me to call the US at 8 bath per minute! It costs me 60 baht per minute to call across a bar room using my US cell phone whil roaming in Thailand!
  2. Very true about the multiple Star Alliance Carries. Just go of the "Ding Wa" with a CSR from the 1k desk. A hitch is you get two stops and any more will be a new award. I play the game to keep 1K Status with UA knowing that at least I've at least 1 year to buzz out their miles. What to do....Stop in HKG, MNL or BKK what to do? BKK and MNL will do for me! The big talk over at www.flyertalk.com is who is next to go. I expect that the top end of the FF groups from UA will get a cross over. I use the MP CC and they have already said just chose your airline if you want to switch.
  3. Check you PM Box as I have dropped you some good. Very good info.
  4. Hey, remember that Star Alliance is wide open for mileage use. Flights w/in LOS are too high. 30K v 160USD for Royal Exec BKK to Phuket....I pay..... Just for my two cents I use my miles for upgrades. Play the market as a 1k I have lots of perks so I use the different ones when the pricing is right! How does one get a stop into Manila as I don't think you can use mulitple carriers and UA no longer goes to PI. Isn't Thai the only one who services the US and PI both? I suppose I'm dating myself with that one but the FC lounge in MNL had name cards for you seating and valet ser

  6. Thanks Hansum One! If have it confirmed that there is no joyner fee from the Res Mgr. That's what put the Joy in joiner.
  7. I even like the program where the front desk calls th room before releasing the Darling. I still go buy the rule that no hotel without inroom safes cause I send them to the shower and I stash everything. A small batt operated clock is a great investment!
  8. As per the Reservations Mananger, Mrs.Pawinee Norasetgamol, there will be no fee and the quest's ID card will be deposited at the front desk! Well that is very nice but what about the guests whom don't have ID's and possibly their Visas have expired and don't want to get sent back to Chernobal or Sibera?
  9. Any current reports on the guest policy? I've an e-mail in to the REs Mgr so I may be able to post someting for all.
  10. Only one down side and that would be a deal breaker for me. NO INROOM SAFE. Gotta keep running back and forth to the desk with all you toys. Camers, LapTop, PDA, MP Player not to mention stuff like passport, cash, credit cards, and things like jewelry and Rolex that go into the safe whilst enjoying your company. (Sorry for the mildness but this is a PG section)
  11. Any good Rock and Roll bars in Pattaya? I'm off to make my first visit with some guys who have been there before for don't know of bars with live rock bands. I guess there is no short supply of "girlie bars"
