  1. I don't approve of gun ownership in the main, but I want one of those guns. Some bugger across from my condo directing traffic at a hotel blows his damn whistle all bloody day. I haven't fired (or touched even) a firearm for nearly 40 years, but I'm fairly sure I could nail him from here.

    Nice one

  2. It is interesting for someone like me to read these comments. Like many others I know little about the political system in the US however Trump has bought is into the limelight.

I have noted however that the comments seem very black and white (literally) and insults about the players from the left and right at the norm rather than the exception. In fact, reading the comments here leads people like me to believe that the US is on a very bad slippery slope. It allows people to carry rifles designed for war by mentally challenged people. The race relations never seem to actually improve, simply be discussed more. Then the richest country on Earth is starting to put up walls, barriers to trade and looks to expel people born there. A great many Americans seem to be heading to the extreme right and this is dangerous ground to occupy.

I simply hope (but know that it wont happen) that the US wakes up from its sleep and sees just what it has let itself in for.

Its the best thing that could have happened at least he has woke up Europe to the ludicrous rule of free borders England already is Fucked to many people claiming and not working the country i loved is no longer if nothing is done Islam will be the predominate religion world wide unless something extreme happens

  3. It may be that there really isn't much difference, but sometimes it's interesting to mull over the finer details when planning a visit.

So has anyone noticed a difference between the beginning and end of April? To visit before songkran or after?

Mainly thinking about girls numbers and the nightlife vibe.

The second question is flight times.

Looking at Emirates they often have 3 flights a day. All had 1-3 hrs layover so can' split them much there.

The first few nights would be in BKK (so no taxi st8 to Pattaya).

Option 1. Depart London 10am... arrive BKK 7am.

Pros...can get to Bkk hotel and sleep and be fresh for the nighttime.

Cons...getting to Heathrow for 10am means a bloody early start (even though i'm in the SE)

Option 2. Depart London 2.30pm...arrive BKK 12 noon.

Pros...Good time to get to Heathrow. Can still sleep in bkk before heading out.

Cons...Easy to fall into groggy zone. You get a few hrs sleep in bkk but it's not enough. Alarm wakes you up and you feel completely fucked. Force yourself up and feel worse for having gone to bed.

Alternatively ride it out till night time and find yourself falling asleep in your beer at 10pm.

    Option 3. Depart London 21.45pm...arrive bkk 18.55.

Pros...No rushing to get to Heathrow airport. Get up and do last minute things. Night flight means i can doze (even though i never sleep properly on planes).

Cons....it's a rush to get out for the night. Realistically looking at 9pm at the earliest without baggage delays or particularly bad traffic.

Without any decent sleep those Singha beers can knock you sideways. Feel a bit spaced out (actually this can give a nice heady surreal effect!)

Does anyone have a favourite time to leave home country or arrive in Thailand?

Preferred the third option biggest hold up Bangkok Airport only 3 custom gates open bloody stupid with many airlines arriving at same time they say welcome to Thailand but its not a good start

  4. You might want to give a little more information.

What speeds are you hoping for?

    Where are you? What area?

Are you in a house or a condo?

Some areas you can get fibre other areas you are lucky to get dial-up speeds depending on the infrastructure. If you are in a house most things can be fixed with money. whereas in some condos you are limited by what they have there.

We in Pattaya Klang 600baht a month why fy 1000baht to conect

  5. I am a fan of Trip Advisor and I use this website to select hotels and restaurants all the time. I've written 170 reviews on their site too which makes me a top level contributor (level 6). One thing I have found with this site though over the years is that their site can sometimes be misleading and as Evil says, their ranking system is open to manipulation and has many flaws. Many times I have eaten in a so called "top" restaurant and it turns out to be a disappointment. Some restaurants or hotels seem to gather a huge following and feature high up on the list of the best when it seems totally unjustified. Once you're experienced with using the site you learn how to filter though the reviews and which ones you should take notice of which allows you to make a better judgement when you select hotels and restaurants. I've eaten in some on this list and the only one I'd disagree with is Retox. This is a great place to drink and watch sporting events but I don't rate their food. The ones that I have eaten in and would rate highly are Cabbages and Condoms, Pattaya Beer Garden and Surf Kitchen in Jomtien which is probably my favourite.

Sorry cannot agree on cabbages and condoms one of the worst meals we have had very disappointed

  7. Political Differences Explained.......

If someone asks you what the main difference is between most of the Obama supporters and most of the Trump supporters, instead of stammering and stuttering and looking for an answer, just tell them that the Trump supporters sign their checks on the front, and the Obama supporters sign their checks on the back.

I NEVER REALIZED THAT IT WAS THIS SIMPLE!

Trump supporters are your average American the others are Muppets

  8.

    Tight bugger. Methuselah or nothing.

I've had the buffet at the Hilton a couple of times, not too bad but nothing on the Mantra equivalent. They used to do a free flow wine package for around 1300 baht pp which I thought offered good value again, especially if you can neck a fair bit of wine. I'm not sure if it is still an option though.

Has anyone tried the bar on the 34th floor?.

Surprised someone mentioned the Mantra another rip off place for tourists

  9.

Ahh memories of the Phantom Flan Flinger and the Bucket of Water Song. Such a great morning programme. Nearly as good as the Magic Roundabout on most evenings

    Memories eh?

These are great lyrics for retirees. "The only thing to look forward to.......the Past!"
