  5. Well i found just what i was looking for on Karbi.NOTHING..There was not alot to do for sure.I did stay at the Shearton hotel, very nice hotel not completed yet.Everything at the hotel was way overpriced.Karbi is a very beautiful island awesome rock formations, great looking beaches. There is NO nightlife to speak of.We did some great mountain biking found some very good and cheap resturants.Had a very relaxing time.Spent 7 days there maybe a little to long for me.Karbi is kinda of unspolied now,but there is alot of construction going on around where the Shearton hotel is,I see in 4 or 5 years th
  6. Steve i flown Emirates from London Dubai Bangkok several times.I personally feel the Business class seats towards the front of the aircraft are better.like rows 7 or 8,plus you want to be on the 2 side.If i remember correct it is 2-3-2 seat configureration.I think Emirates also has one of the best business class lounges in the world.I am looking forward to the flying from JFK in April of next year.

  9. I have stayed at the Pattaya Centre Hotel twice,I stayed in one of the deluxe rooms. The rooms are very large but run down.No problems with guest, they did take the I.D. at the front desk.Funny storey,The last time i stayed there me and my buddie went out to get something to eat when we were walking back to the hotel i got that awful feeling in my stomach that i needed to take a bad crap,so i pick up the pace of my walk a little quicker,I get back to the hotel, great im going to make it to the shitter without causing a hugh mudslide in the lobby .Start running up to the elevator and boom 50 Chine

  13. Northwest is running a special from now until the end of May.JFK to Bangkok $600.00 roundtrip.Good deal..
  14. Thats what i found to be great about the trip,it was so different.I have been going back and fourth to Thailand for about 10 years maybe 3 or 4 times a year, going to the bars meeting a new chick everynight, but after a while it started to feel same-same.It was great to get outside the tourist zone for a while. It was not the most comfortable sleep i had in awhile but that is all part of the experience, getting ripped off is all part of the landscape of being a tourist in Thailand. But if i was ripped of $1.00 buy some poor farmer,i would bet he needs the buck more than me.
  15. Good luck on the Visa,we are still trying to figure out what to do.Should i move there should she move here.Anyway you look at it,it will be very difficult.I have 2 more trips over there this year.I hope we can figure something out.But good luck to you and the misses ;D
  16. Yes I am back,I had such a great time.I would go back for sure.My Girlfriends family was great,me and her were the only ones that spoke english,so communicating with the family was with alot of smiles. There was not alot to do during the day so we visited alot of Wats, drove up to the Laos border, went to a weekend market where i was the only farang there. In bed by 10pm,the cat in heat whould start at 4am the roster at 5am and the dog that sounded like the roster at 530am.The last night we where there was great all of her relatives came over for a party, there was about 80 people there,we drank to

  18. We are going to fly into Undon Thani, then someone will pick us up at the airport,i think the drive to her familys home is about 2 hours? Ratshead have you ever taken the drive from Sakonnakorn to the friendship bridge at the border of Laos,if so how far is it,is it worth it.We will have a car at our disposal,Is there anything you can recommend to see. Thanks Boston Phil

  21. Thank you Papa and nidnoyham, very good insight to what i am about to experince,Culture shock was when i first touchodwn in Bangkok 6 years ago for my first trip,Now its time to try something else out.I was told by my girl that i will be a movie star in her home.I did not understand what she ment until she told me that half of her family have never seen a farang, except for in movies..I am very much looking forward to this experince,I asked my girl if i should bring some gifts from home for her mom and grandmom{102} she said no that we would go shopping when i got Bangkok.{as usual}.I have check

  23. I have stayed at this hotel about 10 times in the last 5 years.I think the place is great,a couple things i like about the place,The sports bar on the bottom level of the hotel, really never to busy always a great staff of cuties running around, some really good resturants in the hotel, nice pool with workout room off to the side, great massage room. The hotel has a really good staff of people. If you need anymore info on the hotel send an email to me at pcampbell@pfi.com I would give this hotel 9 out of 10 stars.I will be back at the hotel on 7 Feb.
  24. A good place i have stayed a few times is the Hard Rock Hotel, right on Beach road.Great ocean view from the all the floors, awesome swimming pool and bar in the pool.Never had any problems with guest staying with me.It is a little pricey$$$.But i can be a nice place to hang out for a few days.
  25. Out of the 4 hotels you have chose Pattaya Centre is closet to the action on walking street.I have stayed there in the past,i think the place today is a S"" hole. The other 3 hotels i have not stayed in so i can not comment on them.I will tell you not all the action is on walking street.I agree with Emil the Flippers or Eastiny inn on Soi 8 is pretty good. Not much money maybe 800 Baht and there is plenty of action right out the front door of these hotels .
