  1. Implants here in NY are 2500 and up...(and up are the key words...) The bridgework is a possibility. Seems like a good deal to me. Thanks all for the info once again!
  2. How about bridge work? (3 crowns to fill a missing tooth) Any experiences and cost? I know these are much cheaper in LOS. Thanks Costa Rica is a no go... I can not get away there...no excuse, if you know what I mean. Thailand or US for me.
  3. Not cheaper where I live, but not worth the extra effort of getting them done in LOS either. I am considering a bridge instead, as the cost of implants here is just too high in this economy... Thanks for the info!
  4. Hi All, I know there are some old posts around (2005), but has anyone had dental implants done recently in BKK or Pattaya? I am curious as to the cost for the procedure. Thanks
  5. It would be great if one of you could upload it and post it here. I have been waiting to see it for years...
  6. I believe that many martial artists that DO NOT fight regularly place TOO much emphasis on kicking techniques. Hands are always fast and can be lethal, as any proficient boxer can demonstrate. However, it IS better to have a full arsenal of tools and attacking methods at your disposal when the time is right for their usage. Most martial arts styles train their students to be much more than just a fighter. They teach the discipline to endure the mental challenge of combat and the willpower to persevere despite injury or overwhelming odds. Most styles are not overly concerned with weight classes or size, but instead concentrate on self defense against ANY opponent. (Most will be bigger and stronger than the student...) Personally I give boxers ALOT of credit, since they actually DO what they train for, FIGHT, instead of theorizing about how their techniques will actually work in a reality situation. At the end of the day, the better fighter will always win, despite style or size...Peace.

  8. Been to Patts 3 times this year and never saw the beach??? Never been on Beach Rd? hmmm....
  9. ALA The Simpsons Comic Book store owner... "Worst Post Ever"
  10. Settled them in down in Jomtien Beach...Thanks anyway.
  11. I need some recommendations for a nice hotel that is not filled with people like you and me...lol. It is for a few middle class college girls from BKK to come down to Patts for a few days. They want to spend about 700 a night, but more or less will be ok I think...The main criteria is that it would be a place you could recommend to your mom or sister...clean and stalker free...Thanks so much guys, I owe you one...peace.
  12. I will add my usual comment posted to the various back pain threads on this board... If you want a good chiropractor in Pattaya, Dr. Pack is your man. However, if you want to be forever free of pain and realize that your back is not injured, (even though you believe and have all the proof in the world from many doctors that it is), PM me and I will share all the info I have. I suffered for 18 YEARS with both chronic and acute back pain and herniations, degenerations, ad nauseum...I am a walking encyclopedia of back pain remedies...and I am cured 100%...'nuff said. peace.
  13. Best of Luck to you Jack, and enjoy living the dream of many of us...thanks for sharing the video.
  14. Stayed for a long weekend 3 days... Nice beach but not as nice as Ao Prao on the west side of the island for swimming. Lots of potentially hazardous sharp objects in the sand underwater, but a nice swim, if you do not want to put your feet down too much !!! Beautiful cottage with romantic outdoor shower. NO TV, so it is truly QUIET there...Very Very little hot water, with minimal water pressure in shower. Very good restaurant and excellent drinks. Wonderful pool overlooking the Ocean with its own swim up bar. EXTREMELY friendly and accommodating staff, with good English skills. No mosquitos in room, but huge amounts of them outside, especially at the restaurant, at night, as well as flies during the day. The resort has mosquito spray that worked great, ask for it...the grounds are immaculate and the cottage had its own private deck, and was right on the beach. Booked through Thai tour at 5300 a night, not including breakfast, but including roundtrip boat from Ban Phe pier. I really really enjoyed the intimate nature of this resort, and was thrilled by the small size and therefore few guests to share the facilities. Extremely recommended as a place to relax and watch the world go by for a few days.
  15. Stayed for a 3 day weekend and really enjoyed it. Free boat trip from Ban Phe pier and return included, as was buffet breakfast for 2. The resort is part of Ao Prao resort, and owned by the same people. Excellent beach for swimming and water sports, and a nice pool with infinity edge overlooking the beach. Not enough chairs on the beach for guests, however...The restaurant is mediocre at best, but the one at Ao Prao resort (1 minute walk) is much better. The room had a nice view and was romantic with 2 showers (inside and outdoor). There were lots of mosquitos in the room when we arrived, but they cleared out by the first night, and were not a big problem outside at the resort. Booked at a discount with Thai tour, but still expensive at 6300 a night. My recommendation would be to stay at Ao Prao instead, and enjoy a comparable experience for less. I have also stayed at Ao Prao and would place it as a better value for the money, with comparable quality, sans pool. ( The sign at Le Vimarm says guests only, but people from Ao Prao DID walk over to use the pool...)
