The airline industry is one where it nearly seems to be a stated goal to provide less and less service to the customer. At least that appears to be the case for the mere mortals flying in the cattle section of the aircraft.
Having a vacant seat next to one used to be common but now it's a rarity. And not only do our waist lines expand over the years but the plane's seats are definitely shrinking in an inverse relationship.
