Im coming to Thai very soon and want to visit PI as well. In the Pi Cash is king and tc's are hard work to cash and a bad rate is often given. Does anyone know if the exchange places in BK or Ptya will change £ TC's back into £ sterling as this would be a safer option than carrying my PI money in cash I know i could use atm but i dont think they are as updated as Thai.. Cheers PB

I always take sterling TC's to thailand and the exchange rate is better than cash.

I would think it highly unlikely that you would be able to do this. One reason is that the rates of exchange for travellers cheques and cash are different. There is also a different rate depending on whether you are buying or selling.

PB;

I’m Assuming that you will be departing for the PI via the airport.. You can cash your TCs for Baht at any exchange while in LOS. Then after you go through immigration at the airport you can exchange the Baht for Pounds (Sterling) at the Bank Exchanges kiosks in the BKK departure area. You’ll be paying commission on both exchanges :grin-jump , but it is a solution.
