Belfast - BKK for 4 people

Recommended Posts

hi

going back to LOS again after long break (9 months!)

anyone know who is best quoting from Belfast for 4 people going start of October with 2 staying 2 weeks and 2 staying 4 weeks

Usually gone EVA but plane does not make it into LHR to connect to Belfast so you have to overnight on return.

Came back last time on Phuket Air - God help me never again, uinbearable heat and no f**king legroom, shite food and no bogs to speak of.

any help would be gratefully appreciated

PS am doing 2 weeks in Pattaya and then going up country to meet some other friends thenback down for a few days to recover on the beach (bars) before heading home

Emirates have some good deals, search for them on http://www.kelkoo.co.uk and also try their own website.

You have the option of a cheap flight to Glasgow with FlyBe or Easyjet and then on to Dubai and Bangkok.

Emirates arrives/leaves Glasgow around midday, so connections to/from NI should be easy.

Hi guys I'm a fellow NI resident who's also fed up with the extortionate airfares they charge from here  .

I've also travelled with Eva & thought they were great but the overnight on the return leg adds a day onto your journey .

Last time I flew Phuket Air - never again , even if the flights were free  ! Easily the worst airline I've ever used . It came as no surprise that they've stopped the LGW-BKK flight as they would never have any repeat customers .

Next time I'm going back to favourite Dublin-Amsterdam-Bkk route with China Airlines . The DUB-AMS leg is with Aer Lingus & then onward with China Airlines . The stopover time in AMS is only 2-3 hours & Schipol is a much nicer airport to wait in than Heathrow . You should register with their airmiles system as you can accrue enough miles fairly quickly for an upgrade . 2 return flights was enough to get me a free one way upgrade to first class - highly recommended B) . I think you can transfer other peoples mileage to your account so your travelling companions should register as well . The price seems to be consistent all year round - now just over £500 .

I always book with Gordon at Gazelle travel ( Rab posted the link ) . Many travel agents don't realise that China Air do a connection from Dublin , even some of the other reps in Gazelle don't know so ask for Gordon when you call .

The only downside is the price of parking in Dublin Airport ( 7 euro per day long term I think  ) . If you're staying for 4 weeks use a bus or train to travel to the airport .

Hi eltilza,

I have just booked my flight to bangkok for july and like you was getting quoted silly money for the connecting flight to london. I was getting desperate when i remembered that a taxi driver who goes to pattaya on a regular basis advised me to go to trailfinders, travel agents in belfast.

So i am booked to go at the start of july with austrian airlines (very good airline, flew to bkk once with them) but flying out of dublin for 690 euros (about £495). There is also a new coach service from belfast city centre to dublin airport for £8 return (yes return!!)

I hope this is of some help to you.

Cheers.

I was looking at flights from Dublin and it came back 680 Euro for the end of October Thats 460 sterling(inc tak). Dublin to BKK via Zurich. Search on ebookers.ie. This was flying out Friday and Back Sunday. If u fly midweek, it cuts a few quid off this again, very good price

Swiss often has direct deals on its website from Dublin (and UK) to BKK e.g. for outbound travel up to the end of June - EUR 570 or GBP 395 incl taxes (ex MAN GBP 414 incl taxes). A good airline with brand new aircraft on the BKK route and Zurich is an easy transit point compared to the likes of LHR.

Swiss Offers ex Dublin

Deals for travel in October should appear in early September.

Thanks Tom, some good prices there, not sure whether to wait until September for October deals or not. This will be my first time going in October, do most prices come down for that period.

I'd actually rather fly Qantas from LHR, this is my usual route, It normally costs more but flight link ups and baggage direct to and from Ireland - BKK make it easier travelling, also Dublin is not my Airport of choice, I hate flying from Dublin to be honest and will only do so as a last resort if needs be

Feileacan,

Sorry; it was presumtive of me to assume that you flew from Dublin. :bj2

I do agree with you re getting the through ticket rather than two separately ticketed flights to UK and then on to BKK.

Prices should come down for the period mid/late August through until mid-December but many airlines, if not most, won't have settled on their winter schedule just yet. Generally speaking, offers should start to appear after the late-May Bank Holiday for the above period. I am sure having said that the Sunday Times will be full of offers this weekend! :bj2

FWIW, it appears that Airline Network has some reasonably priced deals (with availability) at the moment via Heathrow and Bahrain with Bmi/Gulf Air (circa GBP 510) for travel in October.

Regards,

Tom

Feileacan,

I know what you mean. Dublin Airport is a frightful kip. Even more hassle lately with security measures. :beer
