Lilo Lils Guesthouse/Bar- a review

Recommended Posts

I spent 12 nights at this three month old guesthouse this September, and what a nice find this little place is.

Fellow boardies Emil and OnMyWay turned me on to this little gem which is located two doors south of Lolita's blowey bar. For those of you who may be new or have not had the pipes cleaned at Lolita's here is the best direction I can give to get you to Lilo Lils.

Assume you are standing in front of Mike's Shopping Mall on Second Road looking east. The soi that runs east and from that point is called Soi Diana. Follow Soi Diana about 300 metres east until you come to an intersection. On that corner is a real estate firm, and directly ahead would be a mini mart. The soi that bisects these two businesses(and running north only) is Soi L. K. Metro. Just glance to your left and you will see the Lilo Lils sign and the Lolita's signs which are well elevated and easily seen from the intersection of Diana and L.K. Metro.

The owner is a nice Brit named Chris; the day mamasan/employee is a lovely lady name of Wan who runs things from 7:00 am until 6pm when she leaves.

I had room #1 which was all I needed: great aircon, ceiling fan, in room safety box, plenty of hot water for showers, tv suspended from the ceiling for easy channel surfing from the bed, and dvd player w/remote as well. This room is 400 baht , a steal at that price IMHO.

There are also some larger rooms for 600 baht that I also checked out. One had two double beds, and the other had one big bed and furniture. Both larger rooms had a microwave and the bathroom was larger as well.

You get two clean towels each day and linens are changed twice each week.

I am sure that you could get daily linen changes for a price, but I did not inquire as all my women never spill a drop. :D ha

There are also 5 or 6 ladies who live on premises who work the bar at night, and I found a lovely little performer there with whom I spent 6 days and had a great GFE.

There are several other very similiar guest houses on the soi including the ThaiArcher where fellow boardies Mats and KJVegas stayed. They paid 600 I believe and the accomodations were pretty mutt same same as mine.

The Cock and Bull guest house is down at the north end of the soi and that place looked very nice indeed.

Several resonable laundries are within a stones throw of this soi, and there is a lovely internet cafe right next door to Lilo Lils too.

The Planet restaurant across from the guest house serves up passable pizza and you can get a coupon from Wan for 50% off which brings the cost for a pepperoni and cheese pie to a respectable 75 baht.( Big D, you might like to check this out. :P )

There are several beer bars on Soi Diana and one gogo on L.K. Metro which employs one dancer I would have loved to have done but I was already "loved up" as my crazy Brit friend Barry would say. :D

Here is the number of Lilo Lils: 06-8439267

Here is the number of owner Chris: 07-1283965

This place should be checked out for sure if you want nice, clean, affordable lodgings. Rgds, Jimmybb

Thanks for the review. There are a lot of brand new rooms at reasonable prices popping up around this area. I might even be tempted to down-grade to one when I get tired of my luxury serviced apartment which is just around the corner from there.....

Rawlins,

It would be indeed a down grade from the LK Metropole The rooms are nice and have most of what you would need but It is far smaller than where you are at (Lilo Lils ) and not in the same league for sure :chogdee2

I was only being a bit cheeky Soi7 - didn't mean to sound boastful.

I am seriously considering looking for somewhere a lot cheaper though and intend to have a good look around the area to see if I would fancy a smaller space on the long-term. Have committed to LK until the end of February though - it's a good rate for their rooms considering high season prices....

Anyone know if this place can be reached by E-mail?

Thanks

Guido

Guido,

When I went in to check for a friend they quoted me 750 and that's crazy money IMO for that place.

Just down the Soi is The Cock and Bull at 500 and 550 a night much larger rooms and same general location.

Thanks, Larry.

I appreciate the info. I'm already booked for my June trip at The Vault.

I'm hoping to talk a buddy of mine into making the trek as well.

He is a cheap charlie, so this info helps.

Since I made my initial report last fall, I again stayed at Lilo Lils this past trip last month. I could no longer recommend this place. The prices have gone up considerably, the cleaning staff does not keep the place as clean as it was on my first stay, and the owner is always pissed up and does not get his booking information straight.
