IN ALMOST ALL MY VISITS TO PATTAYA, I’VE STAYED IN MANY DIFFERENT PLACES FOR MONTHS AT A TIME SUCH AS WALKING STREET (JULIE HOTEL AND LA FONTAINE), SOI 8 (PRINCE HOTEL), AND SHITTY NOVA PARK. BUT IF THERE’S ONE PLACE CLOSE TO MY HEART, IT WILL ALWAYS BE SKY BEACH CONDOS IN NAKLUA ON WONG AMAT BEACH. SKY BEACH IS THE TALLEST CONDO IN PATTAYA. IF YOU’RE ON ONE OF THE HIGHER OF THE 41 FLOORS, ALL YOU HEAR IS YOUR OWN BREATH. THERE ARE 500 UNITS BUT MOST ARE BOUGHT BY BANGKOK THAIS WHO MIGHT COME 1-2 WEEKENDS A YEAR. SAD BUT TRUE.

Thanks Sam. I was paying 15k+utilities per month. There are cheaper rooms but you may not have sea view.

 

The Julie Hotel is on Walking Street (bring your earplugs) at the foot of soi 16 which is where all those new gogos were built (Catz, etc.) so yeah, you can get a taxi there anytime.

 

Ask for room 201 or 301. You lucky man!

Julie Hotel has no joiner fee nor does Sky Beach. Both have unparalleled sea views.

My friend stays at 40th floor at Sky Beach Condo and he loves it. He's paying 25K per month for 1 bedroom plus utilities for seaview. But one thing he's very scared about is fire in the building. If it happens, he's "f_cked" as he put it. He can't take those stairs down since he'll have a heart attack.

The good manager there is Khun Bunchauy (BOON-CHOY). His English is perfect and he's very helpful. If you deal with Khun Nong, the incompetent rental manager, good luck...
