My last trip back to Scotland was only the second time I hadn't flown economy (or ecomomy plus). On this trip, I used three different lounges, Air France in Bangkok, KLM in Amsterdam (actually went into two of them as the first one I went to didn't have a shower!) and Servis Air at Edinburgh.

I really liked the Air France lounge in Bangkok and would rate it as the best of the three I visited. Small snacks or nibbles were provided and replenished on a regular basis, plus they had some good quality champagne. The lounge wasn't too busy either.

KLM Lounges in Amsterdam. The first lounge I went to wasn't open until maybe 10 minutes after I arrived. After waiting, I was then directed to a different lounge as they didn't have shower facilities. The lounges were all very busy and it was quite hard to get a seat. The variety of food available was disappointing as was the sparkling wine they provided. It's not often that I leave half a drink behind, but that's what I had to do on my return trip.

Servis Air in Edinburgh. The worst of the lounges I visited with a visited with a very disappointing variety of snacks and wines available.

Anyone one with other suggestions?

Alan

I don't even bother with the lounges in UK .... a waste of time and effort.

In my experience, Qatar's Premium Terminal in Doha has got to be hard to beat. This is how Skytrax saw things in this year's awards. Interestingly, only three from Europe and none from the US.

The business lounge in S'pore run by SQ is the nicest one, I've been in. Thai in BKK is very pleasant. Both have a good selection of top shelf free booze. US carrier lounges are the pits compared to SQ and Thai.
