Malibu Travel are OK.There are several places to stay and the River Kwai or further up at The River Kwai Village Hotel.

Would suggest you take girl with you from Bk or Pattaya or wherever. Not too many around that area that I could see.

My recommendation is to visit Kanchanaburi early in your trip as it is in the opposit direction to Pattaya.

Stay in BKK first night and then catch the local bus or train the next day. should take about 2.5 hours. Stay at one of the lovely boat house type hotels right on the river. The one I recommend is Sams River raft guest house.  cost about 300Baht per night with ac. very basic but gives a good feel for the place as it is floating on the river and anly about 1 mile from the bridge and half a mile from the Imperial War Cemetry. No need to book, just take taxi from bus or train station. If it is full there are several more in that vicinity. Didnt see any girly bars while I was there but I do know if you ask the locals that they will produce a nice friend for you. by the way it is well worth treating yourself to one of the full day tours which will take in The Bridge, a ride on the Death Railway, Elephant ride and a couple of hours at a beautifull nature park wth waterfalls and swimming.

Have a great trip.

Kind regards

Griffo
