If you're after a decent room near Asoke for a couple of nights, Tune Hotel has just opened on Soi 14 - easy access to both BTS and MRT. Under a grand per night gets you a decent room (great bed and shower) with aircon included.

once you add towels and internet as well as service charge it's actually rather pricey for a tiny loom with no fridge.

I just plugged in two nights in Oct and it came in @ 2015,44 baht for their promo

 

I suggest you pass unless it's a thou or so per night all in so once the deal is over I wouldn't consider it if it's anything like the AC one.

 

edit. The AC one had plenty of teething problems including a haunted lift that tried and succeed to injure and scare the hell out of guests

The value comes if you don't need internet, TV or towels in your room. Internet in the lobby is free if you just need to check your e-mail. If your priorities are for the basics (a really decent bed and shower in a clean room), it's good value. No different to Air Asia really - if you're travelling light, don't care where you sit, and can survive a 90 minute flight without food, it's great value.

 

I wouldn't use it if I was in "holiday mode", but for an overnight to visit the embassy or take in a show or concert, it's ideal.

Just an update to the Tune theme.I have always found Agoda's rates for Tune to be less than the Tune site itself.Until today.Looking at both,the Tune site undercuts Agoda by several $ per day when the extras are thrown in.Plus as mentioned earlier,you accummulate BIG points though you also accru points on Agoda bookings.The weeks I compared are in May 2013.
