BA/QANTAS frequent flier

Recommended Posts

I am flying LON-BKK with BA and BKK-LON QANTAS at christmas, these flights were booked as one return flight since BA/QANTAS codeshare.

Do i need to register with 2 seperate frequent flier progs and have the miles split or is there an option to have the entire amount of  miles credited to one programme?

Can i pre book my seat (row,#) if i am a member of the frequent flier club?

Thanks,chris.

Difficult this one. I can't speak for the Quantas scheme if there is a seperate one. The BA scheme is a rip off. If your ticket is a special offer from a consolidator, part of a holiday package or even a certain class (Ticket class not class of travel) then it does not accrue miles on their frequent flyer program. Even some Concorde tickets do not earn FF miles. The rules are so complex that your best bet is to ring BA and ask.

You can put your miles on either the BA or Qantas FF programs . The Qantas is the better one at the minute but they are probably changing to the same system as BA soon . Is your flight booked with a BA ( BA**) or a Qantas ( QF**) booking code ? If it's a BA code you can use their online check-in facility 24 hours b4 flying & phone check-in on day of travel to pre-book your seat ( you have to join their FF program to do this ) . You cannot do that if you have a QF booking code , as I found out last week .

I've just flown over on the Qantas flight from LHR & theit new seat-back monitors & entertainment system is great . 13 tv channels ( 6 movie ) & 8 games to choose from . I never even got around to opening my book during a 12 hour flight ! I hope the flight back on the BA plane is as good .
