Transport from Airport BKK  into Sentral BKK

Recommended Posts

:) :)

I am sure a lot of you people have spent a few days in Bangkok before traveling down to PTTY.

Any pointer on how to get to your hotel ??? ???

Taking public transportation is not an option for me this time.

only option is having someone pick you at the airport or taking a taxi.

How much do you pay for a taxi into the hotel in Sukhumvit Road ?

How do you avoid beeing scrued by the cabdriver.

I don't mind to pay a bit more than the locals, but I dont want to support his whole family for a year.

Hi Golfer

Go to the 'public Taxi' stand. Give your destination to the

girls in the booth and then you are directed to a taxi.

Remember to ask the driver to take the toll way which you pay (70 thb). If I remember correct it was a total of

300 thb including toll way and a tip. Takes about 35 min

depending on traffic. Try to make sure your driver knows what Soi/hotel you are going to because it can save you a lenghty drive on Sukhumvit road. Remember to make sure the driver puts on the taximeter. There is an airport bus to the Sukhumvit area for about 80 thb. I have never tried that to Sukhumvit area, but I have used it to Khao San area and it's quite ok. But I think we are out on the marginals saving 200 thb after a long flight, but I mention it as it is an option.

Best wishes and cheers

Thaidane

P.S. I started a thread in the newbie section about transport from Sukhumvit area to Pattaya if that should have your interest.

I take the Airport bus to Sukhumvitt Road.  Outside the terminal, just up from the taxi stand you will find the Airport Bus Kiosk.    The cost is 100 baht and the bus runs every 15 minutes.  Take AB3.  The bus takes the expressway to Sukhumvitt Road.  Travel time from the Airport to Suk road is about 45 minutes depending on traffic.  The first stop is at Soi 3 just across from Soi 4 (Soi Nana).  The bus runs the length of Suk road stopping at any of the regular bus stops all the way to Ekamai.  If you are not sure where to get off, the driver will help.

It's safe, inexpensive and almost as fast as a taxi.
