This seems like the best place to put this question. I can't seem to download the codec that is needed to view the larger version of the new video. One of the post has a link to a web site where it is said that you can download the codec but there are a lot of links on that page.

Can someone point me in the right direction and tell me where and what I need to download...

Thanks in advance,

Shilo

Shilo,

Have you checked the post by Abacus in FLB videos Pattaya City FLB Song?

If you need to upgrade you windows media player (wmp) the easiest way is to click on the help pull down menu and select check for media player upgrade.  From there just follow directions.  I was told by a friend that the codec should load with the new player.  Hopefully this is the fix you need.  I am using wmp 9 on my desktop but after reading your post I plugged the wireless network card into my notebook and watched the video using wmp 7 on the notebook  with good results.  I am using Windows 2000 on both machines.  I hope this helps.

Warning YMMV.

PS let me know what happens.

wally,

I had already tried the help drop down tab on my windows media player and it came back with a message that I already have the latest version of Windows Media Player 9 Series and all of it's components. No update is available at this time...

And I'm using a two year old computer with Windows 2000. I saw Abacus's post and I'm covered there. Windows 2000 with version 9 WMP. I think what I need is to find out which link Stricker used on

http://www.moonlight.co.il/download.htm

to download the codec...

Thanks,

Shilo

Elecard MPEG2 Video Decoder v. 2.0 Demo build 2104 (893,642 bytes, ZIP)

HTTP Download, U.S. Primary (it is recasting)

HTTP Download, Russia

Either one of those should work.  I haven't tried it myself though.

If that fails you could try downloading Zoom Player from http://www.inmatrix.com

This palyer plays just about anything and is actually written by a board member.  It's free.

Thanks Pete,

It works great and the quality is outstanding ;D

Well at least it works on WMP now but I'm still working with my teenage son to figure out how to burn it onto a disc to pay as a DVD.

Haven't figured out that one yet ???

I don't think you will be able to do that Shilo.  Firstly the vid is in PAL format which will not play on an American TV and secondly it is in a non-standard DVD format.  It is do-able but you need some fancy software to do the conversions.

Shilo, you should get a tv-out card in the pc - and play directly to the tv. It's to much work to convert-burn-and pray-and hope the dvd's working.

These solutions is also available as wireless.
