Flights between London and Moscow are fairly reliable and will probably be by airbus. The moscow to bangkok sector is another matter and you are much more likely to travel in uncomfortable soviet era aircraft. Be prepared for delays and the possibility that your flight may be cancelled at short notice. Where aeroflot are strong is on price especially as you are travelling at christmas. If you travel outside peak times you can get fantastic deals on direct flights through companies such as westeast travel in London.

Flew with them last year. The plane from London to Moscow was ancient, with no overhead compartments for the middle seats. There's was no inflight entertainment and inflight service was pretty poor. On the plus side there was plenty of leg room.

The flight from Moscow to Bangkok was different it was a modern aircraft ( 747 or Airbus as previous poster said) But still the service was pretty poor.

My advice is bring a good book and your own bootle of spirits, or simply lie back and dream of were your of too, that will get you through.

Hi Wiggly!

I flew SU from Oslo via Moscow to Tokyo Narita once and I was not really impressed with their service. The plane from Oslo to Moscow was an old Russian plane, however they used boeing 767 from SVO to Narita. I also know that they will be operating the 767 and even the 777 (on some flights) to Hong Kong and Tokyo in December this year, but unfortunately the Russian IL9 to BKK.

As the other members said; bring your own booze and entertainment and you'll be just fine. And you're probably saving a lot of money flying them.

Have a nice trip!
