I used Delta miles (60K) to book a flight to BKK last trip to Thailand. I got a flight on NorthWest which is one of their International carriers. I was able to reserve a seat for 14 days and then make changes to the reservation dates. The key is too reservse the best dates you can get. Then call back daily to have them check for better dates. When you get what you want, book it. Once you book to make a change will cost you $50.00. The reservationists are pretty patient but beware, some of the customer service agents will really go out of their way for you and others don't care. You may need to call back in an hour or two and check again. You'd be suprised, I called back the same day and got a seat on a day they earlier told me was fully booked. I have flown alot mainly for work and the flight on NorthWest was one of the best. The service was good, the flight attendants were very polite. They served breakfast, dinner and breakfast again. No charge for drinks which was a first for me. I would recomend this carrier to anyone. The only complaint is that in coach the seats are small and close together. I'm a big guy and I was abit cramped. Other than that, all good.
