  1. Only 6 weeks?? you lucky son of a gun. I can spend 2 weeks there at most.
  2. Thanks for sharing your experience. Not to sound pessimistic, but considering that I visit LOS once a year would make it difficult for me to gain much experience. How long did it take you before you felt comfortable in the market? At this point any info. helps. I'd like to avoid any trouble if I were to make a commitment in buying a condo, although I'm aware that mistakes or mishaps are bound to happen.
  3. Thanks for the advice BigD! Would rent you a place if I were planning on investing, but it won't be anytime soon! My time will come though
  4. Any recommendations on a good location to buy a condo?
  5. bangkapiboy, I'm a native new yorker too and I'm also looking to buy property in Pattaya. Maybe you can help me out buy answering a few questions... Do you live in Pattaya or just vacate there every year? And if you're not there all year long do you rent the place out? Has the property value increased since you purchased it? I really want to move there but see very few job opportunities if I were to make the move. So my plan is to buy a decent single room condo and rent it through the year when I'm not there, while hoping that the value of it will increase. What do you think?
  6. I need a . What you wrote is probably what most of us, including myself, are thinking. I want to move there to live the good life, but I'm aware that if I were to ever move there at my current age that life would be difficult. I will nevertheless try hard to get there!!
  7. I am thinking of doing the few night stay/walk around as an option. It all depends on the replies I receive from other people. I'm also viewing the web site and have found people that have good experiences at Bella Villa Prima. I guess I'll have to continue my research and see what others have to say. I think you're method is a great idea though!!
  8. Thanks for the feedback guys. I was not aware of the "rack rate". I will check out www.precisionreservations.com and see what deals they've got going. Anyone here have a "preferred" hotel of their choice? In addition, how do I know which hotels are GF?
  9. Hi all... does anyone know if you would save money making a reservation online as oppose to making a reservation when I get there. I'm thinking if the price difference is not substantial then I would rather make reservations there instead of online. With that being said, should I just wait and reserve a hotel once I get to Pattaya? What would you do???? Thanks, -Rich
  10. Ah, thanks for the clarification. Now I don't have to my head wondering what the heck it means Can't wait to be there for the first time!!!!
  11. Braveheart, that's great information, I greatly appreciate it. It's my first time going to Thailand I am really looking forward to having fun while I'm there. Thanks for heads up!!
  12. Anyone looking to share a ride to Pattaya? I will be arriving at 10:30 a.m. I'm also looking for some cool people to chill with (20's/30's). Let me know! *EDIT* SORRY, but I plan on leaving on May 27 to Pattaya. I'd like to tour Bangkok a little before heading to party central. If you're still interested let me know.
  13. Please forgive me for the newbie question i'm about to ask... but what exactly does LOS stand for?
