  1. 1) Because it was booked long distance (via internet with an addy provided by a member of another board - I had no reason to distrust) and 2) the girl who picked me up was really nice and fun. I tend to tip because I have been trained to - 25 years living in America, not really a good thing but I have been brainwashed. I thoroughly checked around and that seemed to be the going rate so I assumed that the price from BKK to Patts had increased. The tone of your reply is quite abrasive I am sorry if I offended you the post was submitted in all innocence, quite genuine.
  2. That's odd! I got picked up by one of Mr T's drivers on Sunday 01/17/10. It was 1200baht and a tip was expected, I gave another 100. I felt it was too much at the time. I distinctly remember the time before that in 2008 was 1000. However all the bf prices have gone up and beer prices too so I put it down to inflation. Oh well.
  3. I shall have to try Cafe Uno sounds great. That little place on Soi Diane next to the Heartbeat Bar isn't bad for a quick slice especially late at night.
  4. What rocks? The agressive beggers and street vendors or the pay up front without any idea how the girl is going to be back in loom - maybe it it the mythical ability to speak English, I know it the filthy air that is hardly breathable. Yes I guess it does rock. Tell you what, you can have my share I'll stick with Pattaya. Each to his own.
  5. Yes that is my opinion. Revolting place never again. Pattaya rules!
  6. Looks like the work of a troll to me. Stupid question anyway, I lived in Houston for 6 months in 07 and the place is stuffed with chain restaurants the same ass the rest of Texas. It isn't exactly hard to find a place to eat there.
  7. The Pasadena is way overpriced for what it is - delusions of grandeur if you ask me. For that kind of money go stay at the Lek Hotel on 2nd Ave opposite Tim Bar. It has a great pool, right near the beach, a buffet breakfast that is cheap, all mod cons including a proper shower that doesn't drench the rest of the room and it is a short walk up Soi Diane to LK. 850b a night but be sure to book well in advance they fill up. I have just returned from staying in LK and I stayed at the Kilkenny. Australian owned by a really nice guy called Ron. 600b a night for the smallest room which was not sma
  8. Just did a 1 way flight from BKK to Clark on sat 30th jan. Plenty of legroom and a smooth flight. Clark a piece of cake to tackle. They have booths yelling at you for a taxi. Take one it is no problem and they are not ripping you off it, it just seems like it. Cost was 5000 baht. Actual cost is closer to 3500 but with this and that plus the commission of the travel agent on 2nd rd Patts it pushes it up. Used Mr Jack travel agency opposite the Lek Hotel. BTW Angeles City SUCKS horribly. Nothing beats Pattaya. Izi
