I thought it looked nice too, as I was almost sold, solely on the jacuzzi (saw a hot looking girl in it), open showers, and sauna...but when I worked out, the rubber flooring smells like tar and most of the equipment is outdated...don't like to waste time putting the weights on manually onto the equipment. I don't think Tony spent alot of money on the equipment...probably got it from some gym going out of biz. He's got some building across from the Tennis and Fitness Center, probably is draining his cash.

Adam, Can you elaborate on TW Condominium? Is that the same as TW Wong - Amat Beach Condominium? Any info on the latter?

I suspect you got out of the bike rental biz. I was toying with the idea of lending my bike over to a guy who runs a taxi biz and bike rental biz, in exchange for the rental income after expenses and him skimming off the top. Now I can picture him saying motorbike was stolen and insurance no pay.

I was curious about this because I have 2 years of coverage on my motorbike and the price seemed very cheap, under 400 baht, which includes 1 year for accident repairs on the motorbike. I just found out yesterday from my apartment manager/owner that Thai kids are notorious for stealing motorbikes and the insurance company won't pay because they think it might be fraud. The reasoning is that the motorbikes are deliberately being stolen and sold in Cambodia, like a business. I wonder if this is true and if anybody had any experience with not being able to get paid from an insurance company

I was thinking about opening an account too, but I whether they offerred paperless statements on-line, since I don't have a permanent address, yet. I purchased a new bike and didn't know that I was suppose sign off on some documents, in order to get the white plates instead of the red plates that I have. Now I have to wait 3 of 4 months to get those white plates. The insurance that I purchased, I was told it was 2 years, but then I found that it only applied to the theft of the bike. My policy for accidents is only for one year. I thought that was strange to have two separate expiratio

Wow...I feel like a shmuck for paying the entire fine of 600 baht. I just can't figure out what the other 200 baht charge was for, as I can only account for 400 baht (200 for no license + 200 for going the wrong way or for having no helmet). Well, that is a nuke point now, as I'm going to stick a hundred dollar baht note with my license, if I get pulled over again.

I've purchased a motorbike, instead of renting one for five months. I was not planning to sell it because I figure I'd be using it again and that was one less expense for me to have not having to pay for a motorbike rental. My back up plan is to leave it with a Thai lady, who I trust and who sold me my condo (not yet built). However, I want to explore other options, such as storage possibilities. I heard there was a new storage rental place in Jomtien, but I couldn't locate. Another consideration I had was to rent a very cheap, small ground floor apartment unit and to see if I cou

On several occasions, I've had tickets for going the wrong way on a one-way or for not having a helmet on my passenger (now I look out for the traps set on Soi 3, Beach Road (near Soi 8 and near Pattayaland 1 or 2). In addition, I take all of the back roads or private entrances to avoid the main intersections, to avoid getting pulled over, as needed. I know I should carry an extra helmet all times, so no need to flame me on this issue. Each time, I had to pay 500 or 600 baht, plus another 50 baht for a taxi-runner to avoid having to take care of paying the fine in person at the police st

What do you all think of Decorum, whic is near Com City on South Pattaya Road? I know the quality is a bit upscale and pricey, but I thought it was interesting that they have an in-house designer that will take the measurements of your condo or house and will add to the floor plan the appropriate pieces of furniture, so that it fits to scale.

I agree what others have mentioned in that it is not a good idea to co-own a condo, as many things can happen to break-up the partnership and someone may want out of the deal. All you really need is about 50 sqm or a studio, as I'd be surprise if you would be spending most of your time in it. I purchased a condo knowing that it is much cheaper to rent. However, I justified my purchase believing that I would be using the unit immediately as a vacation home and potentially a place to retire (future) for "x" number of months in the year, especially during winter. One of my criterias was th

I use skype service, usually from cell phone to cell phone. I've purchased a skype number in the city/state that I'm from (in USA) and basically, when family or friends call my skype number...all of those calls are automatically forwared to my voicemail. This gives me freedom of not being tied to my computer. When I make international calls back to the USA, I'll tell family or friends to call me back on my skype number. IMHO, the quality of the calls are better than skyping-out from a computer, but not better than computer-to-computer, sometimes though it is so clear that it is quite shock

That's good of them to allow you to apply the 6k towards the lifetime membership and smart move on your behalf, using the leverage of two memberships...almost like getting two for the price of one. I wonder if Ao made the decision on that or did she check with Tony? I was just curious how much leverage she has.

There's a card that you fill-out initially, just to specify what kind of membership you're interested in...which I think it is a way for them to contact you for upgrades on promotions. There was no health and safety procedure. Keep in mind that this 99Baht special applies to the Life Fitness Gym. I kind of didn't like the equipment over there. The weights are a bit antiquated...each machine requires free weights to be added, since it is not built-in with a pin...I like to move quickly with adjusting the weights incrementally, which requires too much effort over there.

There's a special going on (started last Wed) for a LIFETIME membership and pay 15,000 Baht. What makes this special interesting is that it includes ALL of Tony's gyms, Japanese spa, Thai boxing (Tony's Group), and future entities owned by Tony. This offer may expire in a week or two (no confirmation on exact date). I have the brochure but it is too large to upload... Does anybody think this is a good offer???
