A footnote to my post. When I returned from Korat I walked back into a ransacked and burgled home.

Thanks for those positive remarks and all valid. I know I should not have looked for thanks and back slaps, the reward was in helping very poor victims BUT some of the victims we gave out mercy packs to, never even said koopun, just took and walked away. I found that a little hard to swallow but the few that did thanked us was my reward and their smile lives in my heart. Many will think bad of me but in future charity stays at home especially the way my English pension looks against the Baht.

I helped to organize a fund raising event for the flood victims in Northeast Thailand recently. Farangs were very generous but the local Thais did not want to contribute. One girl I know (go go worker) earned 5,000 bht the previous night (stupid farang) but when asked to buy a raffle ticket for 100bht she ran away like the others I asked. Out of 150 tickets sold Only one Thai bought a ticket and she got the money from her farang friend. We went up to Korat and presented food and goods and also helped out painting and other labour jobs. One night I bought 2 bottles of whiskey, soda, beer etc(my own $$) and tried to have a craic, not easy with the language barrier but was ok. Anyway, next day I was helping clear debris with 3 guys I,d been drinking with the night before. It was hot, hard graft and I noticed them drinking lipo and cold water. I waited to be offered some refreshment and deliberately made out to be very thirsty, but they blanked me and carried on refreshing themselves with not a thought for me !!. Next day We needed a lift to the coach station and were asked to fill the pick up with fuel. Will be a while before I do the same again I,m sorry to say, I've lived here 6 years but saw another side to our hosts, they love taking but hate to give.

I have lived in Pattaya nearly 6 years and been insured through AA Insurance, (as a group member with Pattaya ex pats.) This year i had to go back to UK for a few months and unfortunately let my policy lapse. On my return the AA have refused to renew my policy as I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer 3 years ago. As you may know most men have it but dont die cos of it and my PSA is stable. I drive a bike here, so fear having an accident more than anything. Can anyone advise on a company that cater for ex-pats. By the way I never put a claim into AA and paid 25,000 plus a year. Many Thanks.

Shit B##@** My Dental bridge 6 teeth across front of gob snapped today, went to a dentist on Soi Bunsampan and she said I need a new bridge 48,000 bht !!!!!!!!!! I went home and put some super glue on it for now, but crapin myself, a guy with 6 front teeth missing is not "Hansom Man". Any info on a good dentist that dont extract the piss.
