  1. Hi there I have just booked at Flipper Lodge in may/june. Due the the confusion about thai limo service I asked in my booking if they could advice me about transport to Pattaya. They answered they have taxi-service at 1300 THB, but if that's PTY-BKK og also BKK-PTY they did not say. I arrive in bangkok on sunday 11. may at 6 o'clock in the morning. Any advice greatly appreciated. Best wishes thaidane
  2. I go with James Clavel too. Very good to read when you are in SEA. Shogun, Taipan, Noble House and Whirlwind are very good. Gaijin not so good imho. And all of them about 1000 pages in pocket book version so you don't have to bring a lot. Best wishes Thaidane
  3. I could not stop laughing and write this because at the same moment I read this thread there was a story in the news, where a Norvegian shipowner said that one of SAS's major problems is their old stewardesses. And that had really pissed of both staff and management in SAS. I also agree with Cheshire Tom. SAS are in very big financial problems due to bad management and some very severe structurel problems and I too guess they will go the SAbena/swissair way. Sorry I could not help writing this Thaidane

  6. Hi Daveman I flew with SAS from Copenhagen to Bkk in may last year. There is good and bad to say. The plane was new, but I can't remember the type, but they are not as big as a B747. The staff is in my opinion not very friendly. High in seniority (old bags) and more interested to go and get some sleep than to give some service to their passangers. On my return trip I sat together with a Norvegian guy and swapped war stories and had a few drinks. Somehow we violated some rule of X drinks in X time, so they would not serve anymore for us. We where not even close to be drunk and behaved like adults having a conversation and we did fetch the drinks ourselfes behind the curtain. Kindergarden wardens. Food is ok and at least from Copenhagen they have a flight leaving CPH 22.40 and arriving in BKK 14.30 which is better than the Thai option from CPH which leaves 14.40 and land in BKK about 06.00. At least it's better for a little sleep. In general I am not impressed and try to avoid SAS when it's possible. But to be fair. The flight was on time and I had a good sleep, but I think many other companies do better. Best wishes Thaidane
  7. Hi Golfer Go to the 'public Taxi' stand. Give your destination to the girls in the booth and then you are directed to a taxi. Remember to ask the driver to take the toll way which you pay (70 thb). If I remember correct it was a total of 300 thb including toll way and a tip. Takes about 35 min depending on traffic. Try to make sure your driver knows what Soi/hotel you are going to because it can save you a lenghty drive on Sukhumvit road. Remember to make sure the driver puts on the taximeter. There is an airport bus to the Sukhumvit area for about 80 thb. I have never tried that to Sukhumvit area, but I have used it to Khao San area and it's quite ok. But I think we are out on the marginals saving 200 thb after a long flight, but I mention it as it is an option. Best wishes and cheers Thaidane P.S. I started a thread in the newbie section about transport from Sukhumvit area to Pattaya if that should have your interest.
