Thanks, guys for the responses. I do file federal income tax, and pay the taxes. I don't pay state tax, as I am a resident, of Thailand, for at least 11 months a year. I was wondering, if I would have to pay a Thai, tax on my pension that I already paid tax on in the USA. Thanks again, whittler

Hi guys, the 1,500 usd, wasn't from rent, but from my retirement. When I sell the house I will have $2000 a month net. I have talked to some people who hwve rented out their homes and got some bad reviews. A couple rented out and went to the PI, ok for a couple of months, but they moved out and trashed the houes. I think I will hold off at least untill next year, and try to build up a nice savings acct. for a back up, and maybe in that time I will sell the house. You know I am 67 yr. old when it comes to Thailand I revert back to a kid, and I want it NOW. I will try to keep a mature state of mind, but it will be very, very hard. Hi guys, whittler here. I need some advice. I am selling my house, here in Indiana, and the market is shit. My son said I should rent the house and move over to Thailand. My problem is after I pay my bills, I will only have $1,500 usd net a month. I don't drink or smoke. Last yr. I had a condo in Jomtien for 6,000 bt a month, which would do me fine until I sell the house, maybe a year or 2. Iwould like to go out a couple times a week, and find some company. If I can hook up with the girl I was with last yr. I am pretty sure she would be my live in. Well that is it. Can I make it on $1,50

I have a WAMU account, in CA. they told me I would have to have my son on my account, and he would have to go once a month, and fill out a form to wire money to my BKK bank account. What bank do you use, and is there a branch in California ? Someone else told me it would be better to wire the money to BKK bank New York branch . Hi Gary, whittler here. Could you tell me about the cost of living in Mae Ram Phung, compaired to Pattaya/Jomtien? They are the only places I stayed. I want to stay near the beach. Are there baht buses, and would it be safer to drive there? How far to Ban Chang? Are there condo's or would would it be better to rent a house? When I come back this summer I plan to take my lady friend to have her eye operated on. I took her to Pattaya Bkk Hospital, and they said it would be lazer surgery, at 14,000 baht. I have heard that BPH is not the best hospital. Would Sir Racha be good for this surgery also ? Thanks , whittler

I made my 1st trip to Thailand for the month of Nov. My wife wanted to go to Hawaii and I told her we should look into coming to Thailand, what I need to know is Jomtien Beach family oriented, as we will be bringing our grandson who is 12 yr old ? In the months of June, July or Aug. does it rain all day every day? Or should we plan a winter vacation ? Are there hotels with pool for $30 to $35 USD a night ? How do you get around there by baht bus? And is there a web site about Jomtien Beach ? Thanks whittler
