  1. So how are the rooms and service? Do you mean they charge for overnighters? WillieG
  2. thanks for the heads up.....( excuse the pun)..... At least guys won't be hitting on my "Love Me Long Time Lady" at breakfast when I am in the toilet...... and bound to be very fashionable and clean.......with probably great food as well..... I just might go for it after all......kinda tired of seeing a bunch of sloppy drunks at the hotels these days..... willieG
  3. Anyone stayed here......looks good. www.flamingohotelthailand.com WillieG
  4. East LA.......Are you kidding? You need a pass from the "Cribs" just to drive thru that place......I wouldn't go near that place at night...... Still it's very subjective, I wouldn't say that LA is better, I hear that San Diego puts out some good Mex too...... In any case, you need to get upscale Thais in there to make it a go. willieG
  5. There use to be a place down on Mission and 24th street.....Dos Guitarres. Simple family operation.....have to admit they said they changed their style because of the cheese, and sour cream thing in California and the chilies also were different. Miguel's in Reno, Nevada also the same thing, they changed their style to suit white folks. I don't see a big issue with the guys in Pattaya putting out Mexican......after a few Margaritas.....with a few mamasitas......it usually turns out a fine "turd".......the next day..... If you really stick to the purist thingie, then you will be
  6. My only problem with this place is this: Low Season, (15 April to 31 October) Standard Room, Internet Daily Rate 999.00 baht per night, 1 or 2 persons, King size bed with private balcony. Plus, we will run a weekly promotion, for every six (6) nights paid you will receive one (1) night free. The rate includes: American or Asian Breakfast Plan for one (1) or two (2), daily room cleaning, fresh linen, bottled water and free WiFi and Internet. A 500.00 bat per night refundable security deposit (capped at 3,000.00 baht) is required upon check-in. What hotel asks a 5oo baht a night se
  7. Funny thing how Thais can live on less then 20,000 a month with a family...... So maybe the trick is to slowly get into the Thai lifestyle.......seriously moving away from the tourist type businesses will cut your expenses in half overnight..... Make more Thai friends.......stay busy.......learn Thai, etc etc.... Just keep in mind the whole farang maintained lifestyle is 50% more then the Thais.... So get localized......and 20,000 a month is No problem. WillieG
  8. If this is the trend in Pattaya............I am gonna start looking at Cambodia...... These prices are crazy...... willieG
  9. Greetings fellow esteemed......members!!! I am thinking about a few days in Bangers.....and was wondering if the Bourbon St. Hotel near Washington square......is worth a visit....... Has anyone anything to report? Are they guest friendly? Are the rooms nice? Any info would be highly appreciated....... WIllieG
  10. Do any members know about the peak season surcharge? I called to book a room at the residence gardens and was told the rate is NOT 1,350 for FLB members but 1,700 from dec 20....... Anybody know about this? I thought the rates of 1,350 were available all year to FLB members..... Cheers willie
