  1. Anic, Happen to me on a bus to Chang Mai one time. Had a small padlock but didn't seem to be a problem for them. Everything was intact when I arrived, padlock in place but some contents where wet, yet the bag was dry, did notice floor of underspace was wet so 1+1=? Fortunately all valuables were with me in the bus. Ronnie
  2. Hey Tom, thanks for posting the Sunset Village link. Will definitely spend a few days out there with my favourite TG on my visit early November. Will post a trip report on my return. Thanks again. Ronnie
  3. Not sure about trash music sorry trance music (couldn't resist) ;D.... You can find live older style popular music (Eagles, ZZ Top etc) at The Bamboo, on South Pattaya Rd near Walking Street. Ronnie
  4. Never had a problem clearing customs. Even arrived on the first plane after the huge drug bust last year (60 million in heroin) police and military everywhere....still cleared customs in fifteen minutes. Ronnie
  5. Hey flrogue, Contact details = sunshineptty@yahoo.com...address your email to Lukkana...phn 38414174 fax 38421302...current room rates baht770 low season... baht910 high season and I think they put their rates up more over xmas/new year. Ronnie
  6. Sorry forgot to add that the Air Con is 1st class. Ronnie
  7. Hey Flrogue, I have stayed at the Sunshine (new wing) many times, the last being in August and have never experienced a smell in the Bathroom (except maybe after a TG has taken a dump) ;D. This hotel would have the best water pressure of any hotel if stayed at. Has western style toilets (that don't take 10 minutes to flush). The pros and cons; Pros: Well the new wing is only about 12 months old so the rooms are still fresh, clean and undamaged. Big beds, close to the action, never had a problen with street noise, neighbours. Has tilrd floor, multi-channel TV with good reception, 2 swimming pools, a 24 hour restaurant/coffee shop/room service, internet cafe, travel agent at the front door, secure undergound parking, fast lift. The hotel is very guest friendly. There is a separate entrance to the new wing so you don't have to go through reception. Alternatively, you can have your TG's ID checked at reception, its up to you! :). Cons: Well being on Soi 8 every time you leave the hotel there are so many girls it is sometimes difficult to get very far!!! Hope this has helped. Ronnie
  8. Hey PS Have't heard of a Park Hotel in Pattaya. There is one in Bangkok on Soi 7 (near Nana Plaza). Stayed there last year. Rooms are similar to the Dynasty/Nana. Room rate Baht1100. Phn 662 2554300 Fax 662 2554309. Ronnie
  9. Excuse my ignorance but I did not know that these types of policies were available. Shit!!! I am about to do my fourth trip this year...will have cost me over $400 (Australian) or Baht9500 for f..king travel insurance. Thanks guys for bringing up this thread. First thing Monday I will be on the phone telling my Travel Agent to go F..k himself. Ronnie
  10. They would have to be the slackest at answering emails. Tried emailing them numerous times for my past trips in May and August and 3 emails this week for my trip in November......no response. Why not try the Sunshine (New Wing) or Flipper Lodge both on Soi 8, you wont be disappointed in either of them and would probably cost less than the Eastiny. Sunshine Hotel = sunshineptty@yahoo.com Flipper Lodge = booking@flippergroup.com Ronnie
  11. Hey Guys, Thanks for the info...will try the phone number

  15. I stayed at the Sunshine recently in the residences wing (new part). Paid 770 baht for a great room, very clean and the showers would have the best water pressure I've experienced in LOS. Staff are friendly and very guest friendly (check your TG's ID or not......it's up to you!!!). Have also stayed in the old wing 450 baht but would only stay there if I couldn't get a room in the new wing. Anyway contact them direct at sunshineptty@yahoo.com. They can be a bit slack on replies so send them a reminder every couple of days.
