  1. Since it hasn't already been mentioned, I thought this method might help someone. I traveled from BKK to Angeles City this past spring, by going RT BKK to Macau on Air Asia ($152. USD), and then RT Macau to Clark AFB ($120. USD). This was my 2nd trip to Angeles, and I really wanted to avoid the hassle of Manilla. You land at Clark and get a 300 peso hotel pickup which takes about 10-15 minutes back to the hotel. Very smooth! I had pre-booked both RT flights and it was off-season, so that may have contributed to lower fares. But the itinerary worked out well. Since I stayed a few d
  2. I'm there right now. If you are referring to the building next to aa residence and in back of the Lek Hotel (across from Dynasty Inn), then, no, it is not yet finished. All of the AC units are in boxes sitting outside on the patios of all the rooms, and construction workers are still completing interior finish work. I cannot say (not knowing Thailand construction) when it will be finished!
  3. Yes, I will add my endorsement also. I stayed in the BKK property for 3 nights, and took the free transport to Pattaya. I'm just checking out today after 3 nights in Pattaya. Great deal - 990 Baht rooms with free transfer. I was impressed with the room quality: granite counters and vanity tops throughout, marble tiled walls in bath, shower large enough for 4 people, and water pressure (and hot water) is the best I've ever experienced. Even with the beginning of the Pattaya Music Festival today, the hotel does not seem to be even close to full. I'd stay here again!
  4. JAL is great. I flew LAX to BKK through Osaka this past last May through early April for $525. + taxes and fees for a total of $605. I love their individual monitors with a selection of movies. I usually watch about 4 movies non-stop, and before I know it (well, not really) I'm there! Also flew on JAL the previous year as a courier for $430. from LAX to BKK via Narita. Both times, excellent service, very nice looking and attentive flight attendants, always on time. -- pug
  5. Harvey, Thanks for the excellent review. I'm probably too late in this thread, but I'll make a comment or two anyway. During my last stay in BKK in April/May, 2003, I stayed a total of 9-10 nights at Majestic Suites (on both sides of a 5 night trip to Pattaya) Since they didn't have a fitness center (I'm a runner), a couple of days I went over to the Marriot and paid approx. 500 baht (I cannot remember specifically) to use their health club for the day. It was a welcome relief to the heat and congestion of Bangkok, for sure. After my workout on the treadmill, I laid by the pool for
  6. Emil - Last spring I bought 10 x 500 mg of Cipro in the US before leaving on my trip to Thailand. Cost? $67.00! I had a prescription for 20 pills but since it was so expensive I just told them to give me half the amount. You paid $12. for the same 10 pills in Pattaya!
