You've got a upscaling DVD player or a Blu-Ray player ? Right now my cable signal is looking pretty good thru the Sharp. I forgot to mention that it also looked best connected to local cable while the other looked a little snowy or patchy. I am 90% sure that's due to the Noise filters in it. The old TV was total shit, a 21" with only about 19" viewable CRT that blipped all the time because of the crappy cable signal. The Sharp is 1,000 times better at handling that signal from the cable company. I was watching Law & Order this morning from StarHub (Singapore satellite) & you

The price of a 1080p set here is about 10,000 Baht more than a 720p set. That's 3x the price difference from back home. They do have 1080p sets starting in the 32" size now, but unless you are sitting close to it, I'd say less than 3 meters, you can't tell the difference. If you really want to compare pictures you'd need to be running a Blu-Ray player, even UBC/Truvision doesn't do 1080p or even 720i for that matter. I've got a 720p Sharp that can do 1080i & it had the best picture in the shop, that was compared side by side with Sony, Samsung, LG I was gagging for the Samsung th

If you're running it now, I guess not

I've been to that Scandinavian village & it appears to me that they overpay for everything. Maybe they don't want to learn English ? I'd much rather be around a diverse background of people. -
Well, at Fox & Hounds you had to walk to the bar to make your order most of the time, there were not many waitresses on the pub floor, but the bartenders did serve it to you at your table. I always sat at the bar, so no worried getting my order in. Joe K. Wow, a little longer than I care to remember, 555 First I'm hearing about Carl's Jr. in Seacon too, but I didn't live in BKK most of my years in LOS.

"eat at a formica table, eat with your fingers, and are meant to clear your own table " This topic has gone WAY off track, but I'll add my two Baht here anyway. So what's wrong with the Thais who are so lazy they can't even take up their own trays ? I remember when KFC & McDonald's was new in some places in LOS & found it quite funny to watch a load of them come in & grab a booth, then wait patiently for someone to take their order, LOL best F&C & EVER had was in Melbourne at the Fox & Hounds pub, fan-freakin'-tastic gotta refrain from using the full

A friend of mine just left for Doha & buys all his duty free at the destination.

Rayong is a quiet town. There's plenty of places for the young people to hang out, but just about nowhere for old timers. It's got a Big C, Lotus & a shopping center called Laam Tong (Golden Point). Laam Tong is the only one with a movie cinema, but they do not show soundtrack movies, only movies dubbed in Thai. The beaches are nearly an hour farther East & Samet Island is another 30-45 minute ride by boat. If you just like to relax in a quiet town it's nice enough. I'll be there this weekend with my GIK, so will be well rested for a look at Banchang on Sunday afternoon/eveni

Well, I missed a good man's Buddhist funeral ceremony this morning, but at least I was there to remember him last Friday night !
