So to answer the original question - DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHY THE PRICE IS DOUBLE? I appreciate the comments about late bookings, but I fly BKK / UK every three months or so and the flights the other way around are always 200/300 quid cheaper. I keep saying I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a 1 way ticket to the UK and book returns from there - but I never do

Sadly things have started going downhill in general at least in economy class. My feeling is that the quality peaked some ten years ago when good airlines were already offering personal entertainment systems even in economy class. Since the low-cost airlines took off, we are being nickel-dimed to death. One example is that the Finnish national airline now provides a limited amount of free wine and beer only with meals in economy class on the Bangkok route - otherwise any alcoholic drinks are charged separately. THAT'S PROBABLY BECAUSE MOST FINS ARE PISSHEADS AND THEY WANT TO LIMIT THE AMMOUNT OF BOOZE THEY CAN THROW DOWN THEIR THROATS. Having said that I used some of my BA airmiles last year and ended up flying with FINNAIR on the return leg LHR/Helsinki/BKK and they were OK

I flew out early morning 5th Apr and it was a breeze with the snake system (less than 10min). I came back yesterday lunchtime 16th Apr and was through in less than 3 min, again snake system but there was nobody waiting -I had one person in front of me.
