Fook me, are you related to my parents ? exactly the way we had it. Usually with some finger buns. Still the way I prefer it today.

Exactly how I grew up with salmon It was my Japanese ex wife who introduced me to seared and then raw tuna and then the various other varieties of Japanese sashimi tuna. Now I love it but I also like the security of a good tin of salmon in the cupboard for when the mood strikes.

Totally wrong I'm afraid. Your B is a multi entry, you do not have to go near a WP and it has nothing to do with a wife. What you are referring to, I guess, is someone who has no visa, being offered a job, having to go to Penang for instance, where they would be given a single entry B visa valid for 90 days. If you get your WP sorted, then you do not get another B visa, you get an extension of stay based on your WP. Lose your WP and you have 7 days to get out of the country. That is why everyone with half a brain gets a multi B beforehand so if they lose their job and WP, they are not

You're comparing apples and brazil nuts. One is a hotel with pool and suite rooms and the other is a guest house. If you are talking about weeks, then speak to them about monthly rates. I know you could get it for 30k a month which is roughly 3 weeks on the FLB rate.

Has anyone encountered restaurants that serve LAKSA?

The pool bar at the Marriott Spa in Bangkok serves perhaps the best I've had in Thailand. Maybe the Marriott in Pattaya could knock one up or has it on the menu. Found this for Pattaya Secret Recipe @ centralfestival pattaya beach 5th floor, centralfestival pattaya beach, pattaya 1st rd., pattaya, banglamung, Chonburi, Thailand GPS coordinate: 12˚ 56’ 7” N, 100˚ 52’ 56” E tel: (+6638) 043 217 http://www.secretrecipe.co.th/food%20menu.html http://www.secretrecipe.co.th/branches.html Also this article in the Pattaya Mail http://www.pattayamail.com/808/di -
The walk to the baht bus is all of 10 metres and you are at Walking Street entrance in only a couple of minutes. The baht bus back actually drops you at the door. Walk is 4 metres. The RG is not stuck "out in the boonies". IN fact, to get to Walking Street, it is a damn site easier from the RG than a hotel on 2nd Road.

The last ones I bought were in the Bt120-180 range I think. Quite expensive for a tin when you compare the tuns, which Thais do eat and which can cost as little as around Bt19 or so.

Great place and location is fine. Easy to get around. Room is a suite with separate bedroom, living room and kitchenette. Hence the Bt1450. Good value for a suite, perhaps not if you don't want it nor a pool.

And yet Carrefour have numerous versions of fresh salmon, which many Thais don't eat or to be correct, have not tried, which is essentially the same thing. I thought they would have it but numerous requests over the years always drew a blank.

Yeah, has a restaurant come bar set up with produce, wine and beer for sale. Decent food actually. Early closing times, before that Soi wakes up for the evening.

Heinz baked beans in Villa Market around Bt165. Tesco in Surin is shit. I also always end up nearly driving past the bloody thing and having to cut across lanes and swing in. Ask Norby (Norbies) on Soi Cola near the Thepnakorn hotel. He has European stuff and should know if it is available in Surin. I couldn't find any there or in Buriram but brought some with me.

Have a look in Villa Market. I got some from there but often picked it up in Bangkok as I also found Pattaya devoid of the stuff. I was surprised that Carrefour didn't have any. Just remembered, Tesco on Sukhumvit had some as well. Top of Thepprasit and turn right just before you get to the dual carriageway.

Rubbish. You can get a "B" visa with a letter from a company to your Thai consulate. Nothing to do with money in bank accounts. Non Imm "O" visas available just for visiting friends or family or anything really.

Thai cooking does not usually involve peanut oil which is a favourite of Indonesia but nuts and therefore trace amounts are "around" the kitchen and used in a number of dishes. Cooking your own food is an option as, is I suspect, eating in western restaurants. But beware then that the danger exists as most will cook Thai food as well, if not well.

Try advertising on Thai Visa and perhaps in the Pattaya Mail. I did that for one business and got some varied but interesting results. Some knew what they were doing, others just chancers. You really need to have done your homework and laid out your designs and more importantly the functionality you require in order to assess the people you ask. Then you have the designer versus programmer issue to deal with. Some will say they can do both but cannot. I found a good starting point to have links to websites which have some features you want to incorporate as this gives your designer / progr

No worries. I was amazed at how bad it got earlier this year. Some folks on WPs for a decade were being treated as though they were one day wonders and yet they'd been all legitimate for donkeys.

Then I seriously suggest getting a non immigrant "B" visa as there are running issues with WPs and extensions based on WPs and a single entry B may find you hauling your ass back to Penang or somewhere on a regular basis until things get sorted out. This is not just small companies but for well established outfits with all the lawyers etc. in place. If you get a single entry on the back of company documents and then you only get a 1 month extension, you'll have to take another trip, whereas with a multi entry, you'd just hit the border and come back. Much better to have your own multi entry B

Why not just get a non immigrant visa or if you have a child you are responsible for, then you can get an annual extension to a non immigrant visa based on family support. Since October 2008 you do not have to be over 50 years old but do need Bt400,000 (or sometimes Bt500,000 as in Pattaya's case) in an account. Then get a multiple re-entry permit.
-
That is the right idea. If you are only coming once a year then you've the other 320 days to regret your decision. Spending an extra Bt500 a day when in Pattaya only equates to an extra (assuming the first 2 weeks in a guest house while you find somewhere - 30*500=15000/320) Bt47 a day for the rest of the year ! If you can get a budget of Bt40,000 then you can get what you want in the 2 bed category (within reason). As a guide to hotel monthly discounts, 25% to 33% off the 30 times daily rate would be a benchmark. Short term condo rentals can be 200% of the 12 month monthly rate but I'd sa

Yeah, good for some things but of no use really in negotiating 1 month stays.

The reason no-one gives a toss about the water rate is because you use so little, in unit terms, compared to the electric. If the water rate was going to cost them Bt 1000 more a month then they would complain but if it only saves them Bt20-50 per month, it is no big deal. Some people charge a flat rate for water or just incorporate it into the rent. You can't do that with electricity because it is so expensive and that is why you should use the government rate and add the profit onto the rent. You don't lose out but the customer thinks they get a better deal and respect your honesty on th
