  1. Before this trip, I would have recommended the Eastiny Soi 7. Unfortunately I was robbed by the cleaning lady and the hotel management was NO help at all. Actually, did less than nothing to even make me feel like they were concerned. I've stayed at the all 3 Eastiny Hotels, both Flippers and the Pig and Whistle. I think the Eastinys are the cleanest although very basic in room. Pig and Whistle is the most cozy but older not really a hotel (sort of like the Dynasty in Bangkok). Both Flippers are fine as well. If you are coming to Pattaya and planning to stay at the Eastiny Hotels, think again. I have been staying at the various Eastiny Hotels for more than 10 years but this trip has convinced me NEVER to stay here again. For the 2nd time in 10 years, I was robbed by the cleaning lady. First time, she entered my room when I went to Breakfast and stole money from my wallet (5 years before) even though I had left the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door. Not big money so no big deal. This time, "big money" was taken from my safe while i was out again for breakfast and the same thing, placed a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, but she entered anyways. I admit I was stupid and left the safe open so I got what I deserved. The reason I suggest you not stay at the Eastiny Hotels is that even after this occurred... I asked the front desk to call the Police, they refused and said I needed to go there myself. I confronted the cleaning lady and housekeeping and the cleaning lady and housekeeping manager just said that "they cannot go into my safe so I must have lost it somewhere else". I finally got a hold of the "Big Boss" for the hotels. He at least listened and agreed that they should have called the Police to come and investigate but that was it. I demanded that they at least change the cleaning lady on my floor which they eventually did. I then paid 6000 baht for the rooms and they told me that printer wasn't working so would give me receipt later. When I checked, it only had me paying 5000 baht. The front desk receptionist told me I only paid 5000 baht and that is what the receipt said so it must be true. When I asked to speak to the "Big Boss" again, they refused to call him even though it was 7PM because he was "done for the night". He specifically told me that if I had any other problem, have them call him. Clearly that message did not get through. While I like the hotels, think they are good value and clean, I will never stay again at an Eastiny Hotel. First time I had this problem was in the Eastiny Place and this time in Eastiny Soi 7. The hotels are good (if not slightly overpriced), but if you do have any problem, the staff and onsight managers are completely of no use and are not helpful at all. Hopefully this will not happen to you!!!! For this reason, unless you need internet, stay at the Flipper
  2. Am going back to Pattaya in September and need recommendations for the best hotel around 1000baht with in-room internet access (preferrably broadband). Need to connect back to work during this time and need the best high-speed connection in a good hotel. I have previously stayed at the Eastiny Residence which was fine but want to try other locations.
  3. I'm going back to Pattaya and saw the LK Mansion website http://www.lkpattayahotel.com/mansion/index.html. Looks a little to good to be true. Much cheaper than the other LK hotels. Anyone have experience here and know why its so much cheaper (a little wary). Room Types Room Features Daily Standard Standard amenities 600 Studio Standard amenities with Sofa corner 700 Superior Standard amenities with dinning table 800 Deluxe Standard amenities with kitchen corner 1,200 Grand Deluxe Pool view atmosphere, deluxe facilities with kitchen corner and private balcony 1,500 One Bedroom Deluxe facilities with separate bedroom and living room, kitchen corner and private balcony 2,000 Any insights or experience would be greatly appreciated. Looks great on the website. Maybe its just impossibly difficult to get to. Thanks!
  4. Has anyone stayed here recently. I still need internet access and this seems to be the best hotel in the Soi 7/8 area with internet access. What are the best prices available?
  5. I just returned from a trip to LOS where I hooked up with 6 buddies through the course of 2 weeks, plus played several rounds of golf. I sent the entire itinerary to Mr Toom with sometimes as many as 3 trips on the go. Overall through 2 weeks, we used his services at least 18 times bringing people to and fro and he or his drivers were always on time (actually early) and he did not miss one pickup or have any confusion of any pickups. Excellent service, good price and a class act. I will definitely use Khun Toom again and his great service. He can handle complicated requests and his drivers were all excellent. Great job Mr Toom!

  7. well, its March 4-13. End of high season, beginning of low season depending the hotel (I guess) .
  8. I contacted the Eastiny Soi 7 and the best price I could get was 1090 per night including breakfast. They would not give me a discount (even without breakfast) but they did agree to give me a free upgrade to a room with internet connection which they say is usually 1290 (since I have to do work on this trip - I took the deal but otherwise would probably choose to stay elsewhere). Even Eastiny Place (which I have stayed at several times for about 800 baht) is now charging 1000 baht and seem to be firm on that. I think the Eastiny group is trying to establish itself as slightly better than Flipper but seems a little silly given the abundance of hotels in the area and relative consistency of the quality of room and amenities.
  9. Does anyone know if the Eastiny Soi 7 has a swimming pool?
  10. Has anyone stayed at or have any pictures of the new Eastiny Hotel on Soi 7. It apparently just opened in the last month. This is not the Eastiny Residence on Soi 10 but the new "Eastiny Soi 7" Hotel. I am very interested in staying here but have no info on it. I would be curious how it compares to the Eastiny Place, Flipper House/Lodge, and Eastiny Residence (soi 10). Thanks.
