  1. Cheers for the reply Jacko. I spoke to Carl in the Birmingham consulate. It would have been nice to have the Non-Imm visa but it shouldn't affect my trip too much. Just have to plan a trip or two to the Phillipines or somewhere near the end of my trip but that should be a lot less than a chore!
  2. Hi all, on Wednesday I am leaving the UK for a 10 month trip to Thailand. I tried to get a non-immigrant O visa but was told that as I wasn't married to or seeing a Thai girl I would only be able to get a 3 entry tourist visa. Anyway I am aware that I can extend each 60 day stamp at immigration for another 30 days but my problem lies nearer the end of my stay. My third and the final entry has to be used before Christmas Day and so then I will have around 90 days (60+extenstion) left which will take me to the 20 something of March. At this point I will have to leave the country and all
  3. In the old building there was a lockable door up to the rooms which could be accessed 24 hours a day, I guess a similar system will operate in the new building. Also I found no problem with the food. The breakfasts are great!
  4. Stayed there last summer for about 5 weeks. The rooms were fine. Big bed, safe, good priced mini bar, air con, separate toilet and shower room. Big TV and dvd player. Haven't seen the new rooms in the new building but I would imagine they would be along the same lines. Dave and Ron who run the place are top fellas and really helpful, although I think Ron may have gone back to the UK. The food is great also and the breakfast is fantastic! I will be returning in three months all being well and shall be staying here for most the time. Hope this helps John
  5. Great service from Mr Toom. Only emailed him the day before - he responded a matter of hours later. Arranged to be picked up from Majestic Grande where I was staying at 11.30. On the day a lovely young lady turned up ten or so minutes early and drove me to Pattaya. Smallish car but plenty of boot space and loads of leg room in the back (and I am 6 foot 5). Charming young lady and it was the safest I have ever felt in a car in Thailand. Highly recommeneded and will definitely use again! Cheers, J
  6. hi guys i am flying on thursday from heathrow to amsterdam with klm in economy class and then from schiphol to bangkok in Business class with China Airlines. My question is can I check in at Heathrow in the Business class check in or do I have to check in with the economy passengers. I really have no idea as i have never flown business class before. Many thanks
  7. Hi everyone, I am looking to book a flight to Bangkok from one of the London airports for the period mid June and returning early August. I have come up with some prices and was wondering if you more experienced visitors to LOS could tell me whether they represent a good deal. On my first (and only) trip to Thailand about 3-4 years ago I travelled economy but being tall I cannot face that again. EVA Premium economy - £700 China Airlines Dynasty class (via AMS) - £1020 Is it worth paying the extra £300 odd for business class with China airlines? Any thoughts welcome
  8. Another question and quite probably a stupid one - if i booked through ebookers or expedia I guess i wouldn't be eligible for eva mileage in their frequent flyer program? Is it worth me paying a little extra via eva's website to get these points or should I just take the lowest fare via ebookers?? Many thanks once again James
  9. Thanks for all the advice everyone. I think I will plump for EVA delux and try and avoid the seats near the door. I have found a decent price on ebookers. Can anyone tell me if you can book your seats when booking with ebookers or is it easier to give EVA a ring nearer to departure?? Thanks again James
  10. Hi Guys I am planning a five or six week trip, probably leaving in June. I visited Pattaya four or five years ago and had a fabulous time, due to other committments I haven't been able to return until this year. The one thing that really puts me off coming back is the flight - I am 6 foot 5 (195cm) and on my last visit the trip killed me. I flew with Thai Airlines in cattle class and suffered big time. For this trip I have decided that I will pay extra and travel in a bit more comfort and that it where I hope you guys can advise. I have read a great deal on this forum about EVA
