  1. I sometimes not rent the electric cart and just use the caddy with pull cart. Good exercise, but gets pretty hot out there in the afternoon. Some courses, i.e.Laem Chaebang, might require an electric cart, not sure. But most don't.
  2. Phoenix golf course is only 20 minutes away, excellent course. Has certain days called "Sports Days" where prices are much cheaper. Pattaya Golf club is only about 25 minutes away, course not as good, but nice course for beginners and high handicappers (like me!). The other thing you can do is go to Lewinski's or "The Golf Club" on soi LK Metro and join a group outing. Provides transportation.
  3. I've eaten breakfast at the Haven and the Sportsman on Soi 13 (thanks for the correction, I always get those Soi numbers mixed up), and enjoyed them both. Haven't eaten at Sportsman on soi 6. Same owner? My friends are real mongers and don't seem to mind the noise distractions at Tim Bar Beer. That's why they recommended it. I personally never stayed there but was going to try it out once cause of the Jacuzzi. Maybe on a 1-2 night visit, not long term.
  4. Highest prices for airline tickets are generally in summer and over Xmas/new Years. All the kids from Asia who are going to school in UK, Canada and USA are returning for their vacations. Also, oil just hit 78USD per barrel yesterday! Don't think prices will be coming down.
  5. A small one across from the Haven and Sportsman on Soi 13/1 (or is it 13/2?) is called InHouse. I've stayed there twice. Pool is very small and that's it's worse point. Rooms used to be 800 baht per night. This Hotel also rents by the week and month. Lek is good, but I didn't enjoy another low priced one called APEX. Room was too small and in need of a renovation. My friends swear by the TIM Bar Hotel, big rooms with Jacuzzi. Have to ask for the big rooms.
  6. Not sure your price range, but I've heard Sandy Springs is a good hotel and some rooms have sea view. Probably around 1500 baht for sea view room. AAA is an older, rundown hotel right on Beach Road, I think 13/2. Perhaps less than 1000 baht.
