  5. Last time I stayed at the Queen was in '04. It was prety good. I had the larger rooms for a week at 650 baht and then had to move to the smaller 550 baht rooms. The small rooms are small and have only a double bed while the bigger rooms have queen. The room I had was equipped with a ceiling fan and A/C and that is how I like it. There was a kettle and complimentary coffee for morning. A dvd player was provided in the larger room and they had free movies at the desk. The room was nicely appointed but the bed was a bit hard for my taste but most are in Los. Free internet for email was provided in the bar. The restaurant was so-so anda bit overpriced if you are a coffee addict like myself butthe Sportsman was just down the street and had better breakfast for less money. The location was great as it is a short walk to Beach Rd. and an easy stagger back from 2nd Road. Being on Soi 6 everyday there was interesting to say the least. oyster
  6. Hi What to do? Sleep in late , start the afternoon with a morning BBBJ. Surf the net for hours or play golf, meet the mates for dinner. Prowl the evening or watch cable. Up to you! No stress! oyster
  7. Hi Do you own a home? I always figure I can rent out my homes(or convert them to more rentable properties)and that will cover my nut in Los. Most of my savings are in my homes and that is currently yielding 20% a year in growth but that can't continue much longer. The booms gotta bust soon. I get residual income from my business accounts till I or they die, currently 4,000 usd/month. I can draw a 50,000 baht from government pensions in 10 years. I am going in January and will calebrate my 50th in Pattaya in April but I intend on finding something to make a few baht and keep me busy. Remeber; Tomorrow is promised to no one. oystter
  8. Stevoman I stayed at a great place on LK Metro last March called The Thai Archer. It is directly across from Lolitas. One of the nicest rooms I have had in Patters. The beds are big and soft, in room safe, free internet wireless connection for laptops, good lighting, good storage but they do not have night security. The price was 12,000 /month. Telephone : K. 9. Hi I read today that city is going to put up 24 video cameras on Beach rd. so the police can keep an eye on things. I wonder hoow long that will take? oyster
  10. Hi I have stayed at the Charming in a few of times in the past. Usually payed about 600 a night. The place is very friendly and always meet some great people there but I don't like the beds as they have two twins pushed together in the rooms. I probably won't go back unless they totally renovate the place. There are many places that are much better for about the same price or a little bit more. If you like North Pattaya, I saw a posting on some board about the new BJ Inn which is just down the street. I think it was 650 a night and the rooms looked REALLY nice and it had a nice pool as well. Last trip I stayed in a different area, the new Soi LK Metro. I stayed a couple of places there but the best one was the Thai Archer which is right across the street from Lolitas. It is a restaurant with super rooms above it. The rooms were the best I have ever stayed in while visiting Pattaya. There is no pool but the rooms have a free internet connection if you bring a laptop. I believe the rooms are 700 a night or 12,000 a month. I will definately stay there again. Some pics of the rooms. Quite a few people read my report on another board and gave it a try. Everyone liked it. From another board; "The Thai Archer offers great cuisine, both Thai & European, comfortable decor & surroundings and also has a bar & 9 quality rooms. Each room is equipped with AC, Cable TV, Fridge and free Broadband Internet. (you bring the computer). All rooms have a small balcony. Rooms are available on a Daily, weekly, monthly and permanent rental basis :- Daily : THB 700.00 : B&B Weekly : THB 3500.00 : 10% discount in restaurant & bar Forthnightly : THB 6200.00 : 10 % discount Monthly : THB 10000.00 : 10% discount, pay for own power. The restaurant has a 38" TV with UBC (local Sky) and we will play any sporting events of interest to customers, upon request. There is an extensive range of DVD movies & concerts and CD music. 11. Hi I think there are two BJ hotels in Pattaya. One is brand new(The BJ Holiday)and is on Soi 3 and the other one(BJ Guesthouse) has been around for ages and is on Beach in North Pattaya. I saw some pictures of the new one on another board and it looked REAL nice. the person who posted said they paid 600 a night. Looks like a deal. oyster
