One of my favorite "football" stories was from back when I still lived in the States... I was watching an EPL game on the last day of the season. I had TIVO so after the game ended I called my teenage son into the room and showed him the last 3 minutes of the game. The game ended in a 2-2 tie and the fans went TOTALLY BONKERS... they rushed on to the pitch and celebrated in complete madness. My son looked confused and asked "What happened... it ended in a tie... did the home team still win the Championship?" I said "No... they came in 17th."

On the other hand...imagine an English football coach trying to demonstrate the proper way to perform a "tackle" to an NFL safety... they would be scrapping the remains up with a shovel.

Why I like the Gridiron League: It's no surprise to anyone who knows me that I love Fantasy Football. Hell, just check out my avatar to see my two favorite past times in life. Well, the mini camps are open and the first preseason game is set to play tomorrow... so it must be time to fire everything up for another season of Fantasy Football. I've set up this years' ESPN Gridiron League. It looks like they have made a few changes so I am having a problem finding the new code for the Pattaya Wannabes League. I'm guessing that it might be the same as last year's because I just "renewed" the league rather then set up a new league. Adam, I see that you have set up your EPL team for this season... is there a new or different code number for this league? I couldn't get 54826-18626 to work for the Cherry Bar League. Also, any plans for Head-to Head competition? Sidenote: did you get the emails for our NFL draft league?

My best guess on how the "league set-up" process works... Someone sets up a league with a name and password. Others join the league, play and or leave a league if they please. The next year anyone can set their team up again but it will just sit there until they join a league. But if the same person who started a league last year reactivates the league again for the new season then everyone who has a team will migrate into the league. Just a heads up that the 2013 version of the EPL Fantasy League is up and running. I didn't create a league for the FLB because I think Hammer (Adam) has done it the past and I'm pretty sure he can reactivate last years league. Actually, there is a small individual letter box outside of each of the condos... and a small note inside of a sealed envelope marked "Attention Owner" might actually be the best option to see who has the thought of selling in the back of their minds. Also worth noting... tomorrow, Jan 16,2013, there is a one day sale on discounted lifetime memberships for 15,000 baht that is good at all of the Tony Gyms. They run this one day special every July but for whatever reason it's on for tomorrow. Might be worth the price for an expat. On the Jomtien Gym... hours are 5am till midnight, they don't supply locks for the lockers, and I think that there is a towel fee.

Pretty much the same experience I have had every time I went there. Peter is one of the best owners/mangers I've come across in Pattaya who always listens to his customers and treats them and their concerns with respect. If there is a problem (and as I said, I haven't experienced any yet) then I'm sure Pete will address it.
