  1. I'm usually planning my next trip when I'm taxing out for departure at Don Muang. If you're comming for the girls doesn't really matter when you come. The high season generates more tourists but more girls are available. Most people like the high season (Nov-Feb) as the weather is a bit nicer although I went in August of last year and it was one of the best trips I've been on. Wasn't quite as busy but there seemed to be plenty of targets available. Like BigD says, doesn't matter when you go just depends on how long you can hold out.....
  2. Didn't say it was silly to prefer an in room safe. I don't think people should use an in room safe as their only criteria in the selection of the hotel, but some people do. Just my opinion. A lot of people prefer an in room safe and no doubt they are more convenient but I got the impression the original poster was concerned more about security than convenience as he was wondering about monies and/or passport being taken from the hotel safe at the front desk. My thoughts are that in room safes are no more secure than the lock boxes at the front desk and of course it's speculation about the c
  3. I've never really understood people that insist on in the in room safe. I don't think it's any more secure than the safe at the front desk, perhaps even less. I'm sure any of the staff could steal out of the boxes at the front desk or any of the staff could enter your room when you're gone and steal out of your in room safe. There's gotta be some secret code or key to get into the room safe in the event you have forgotten the code/lost your key and the staff knows what it is. Even the cleaning lady probably knows what it is. Dishonest employees are going to find a way to get into your belong
  4. Stayed at the Dynasty in early November, noise was minimal. Heard a bit of hammering and drilling but it really wasn't bothersome at all and not sure what these pile driving reports are, never heard that going on, maybe I can't hear so well or maybe it's gotten worse. I'm back at the Dynasty in early March, hope it's quiet by then. Walked past the Sandy, noise was suffiently muted.
  5. Well I don't worry about it, just pointing out that sometimes it can be tricky to cross and I don't drink. Never worry about it. Not once. really. Always get across eventually. Wouldn't even think about staying at home in my city over something like that. That would be just plain silly .
  6. I thoght the 1200 baht rooms at the Dynasty Inn Pattaya (soi13) were for the bigger, deluxe rooms??? I stayed there a month ago and my room was 990.
  7. Dynasty Pattaya,,,,no in room internet, they have 3 computers set up in the lobby for internet access. 50 baht every 15 mins. Not sure if you can hook up a laptop, never saw anybody with one. Great hotel though. Very girl friendly. You can even walk around the side where they park the scooters and get to the elevator without passing reception if you wish. Excellent , friendly staff.
  8. Have also stayed a t the Dynasty many times and have never had a problem with my credit card to hold the reservation. The credit card deposit is only required if arriving late. I don't really blame hotels for asking for a CC deposit. Many people make reservations at 2 or even 3 hotels for some reason then forget to cancel or don't give a shit and hotels end up with a lot of no shows. There are , of course many hotels that don't require a credit card in which you can stay. Personally, the thought and the peace of mind to know my room will be held in case of an aircraft delay or whatever and
  9. Yes, please note updated fares.... http://www.thaiair.com/thailand/limousine/
  10. Yes, of course the expressway, leaves at 1100 from the Bangkok Dynasty, goes direct to Dynasty Pattaya and toll charges are included , but it's not 350 TO pattaya, it's free. The 350 Baht is for the return to Bangkok and toll charges are also included.
  11. You can also take the Dynasty minibus DIRECT to Dynasty Inn or resort . You DO NOT have to a guest at the Dynasty Bangkok to enjoy this service. You must prepay for 2 or more nights at either dynasty inn or dynasty resort pattaya and they will provide free transport via minibus. Return to Dynasty Bangkok DIRECT on the day of your choosing for 350 baht. You can book at the travel desk or at the main desk at Dynasty Bangkok.
  12. You have to go to the Cathay Pacific global site NOT the USA site and click on "FF Miles" or you can go directly to the site www.asiamiles.com and learn more. The Cathay 'deal of the month' fare IS eligible for asia miles which you can use on future Cathay Pacific flights. If you fly AA quite a bit then it would not be a good deal but if you prefer to fly Cathay Pacific Airways to Bangkok mostly then it is a great deal because the miles CAN BE USED FOR FUTURE CATHAY FLIGHTS. So, YES you do get FF miles just not with American airlines which I would never fly anyway as they are on the verge of
  13. I wonder who these 2 guys might have been in their previous 'lives'? In my previous life I was a girl's bicycle seat. : rolleyes :
  14. Actually it is still a good deal. You don't get AA fequent flyer miles but you do get Cathay Pacific freq flyer miles (www.asiamiles.com). I called and checked .
  15. same soi, different hotels. Dynasty Inn is a bit nicer IMO. Dynasty Inn open August of last year.
  16. Dynasty Inn.....soi 13, across the soi from the Lek hotel and just down from the Haven and Sandy Springs. Very nice new hotel, see reviews and threads. My current favorite.
